I am not so sure he is in fact the future of the dolphins; In the game that i went to against cincinnati he did not look that great, i know it was just his rookie season, but we all know that Brady Quinn would be our choice if we at it our way. anyway i do think tho that the dolphins need to groom a quarterback in waiting. so for now i say John "the Men" but whoever we draft for QB in april is going to be the longterm future of the miami dolphins.

Oh boy.... another one of these threads. I like John Beck, and I think he has all the tools to be a very successful quarterback. Is he the future? Well, let's give him an opportunity in 2008, and let's see where it goes.

I think Beck needs a chance. The talent surrounding Beck sucked bad last year. He was thrown to the wolves last year in the pass defense. Steelers, Eagles, and he didn't have a reliable RB to hand the ball too like Brown. Don't forget the fact that the O'line needs some talent too. Beck showed good poise for being on such a bad team that traded away thier receiving talent in Chambers and Wes.

Give BECK a chance.

i think they should give beck a chance next yr but to also try to get a qb in the draft in case he ends up playing bad

Yes he is, he has a quick release and he is determine to be good in this leuague. He has the work ethic .

I think Beck deserves a chance, but I would not be shocked if we took Matt Ryan with the first overall pick.

can't people stop bringing this up??? basically its over discussed now.

Who knows... only way we will know is by watching him in the future. he has his opportunity ahead, he is working hard to become that, he and the coaches are working together to become that... he seems to be working hard with a great attitude.... lets find out by watching now!!!

I agree he didn't look great but he pretty much was in a worst case scenerio. He had everything working against him. Instead of Cam letting him have his first start at home against the Bills (I think it was), he started on the road against either the eagles or the steelers. Both tough places to play. Ronnie was gone, wide receivers were gone, defense was as good as gone.

How can you compare him with a guy who never saw the field, as far as we know Brady Quinn might soil his jock strap each time he drops back to pass. I'm not against drafting another QB especially in the 3/4th round depth is more important there than maybe anywhere else, but let's please give him a chance to be our QB or the rotation year in and year out will keep us mediocre for ever.

It's becoming apparent that the only place Brady Quinn never was able to come from behind was on the college football field. For his winner's instinct, his smarts, dedication, maturity, mobility, accuracy and canon, I'll take Beck thank you < a good draft decision in retrospect.

the only reason quinn didn't play was because the guy in front of him went insane not because he struggled or anything like that. you can't call beck a correct draft decision yet either, he stunk it up last year real bad. randy mueller took a hell of a lot of chances in last year's draft for a team that had won 6 games that past season, mueller has also been fired from 3 teams so we have to wait and see how this plays out, mueller may have just been an idiot who outsmarted himself out of a job.

Is John Beck the future???? well.... Is a frogs *** water tight??

Personally I don't think Beck is the future. However I'm not ready to give up on him at this point. Many QBs have been horrible in their first season to go on and have good careers. Take into consideration that he was placed on a team thats starting QB and second string QB won a grand total of 1 game all season and you are just asking for a bad season from the youngster.

Bring in a vet this year that will challenge Beck for the starting position and hope that he has improved enough durring the offseason and through training camp that he proves himself a starting QB in this league.
