With NE now beating us to Stallworth, is Curtis our next option? I know MIA has had Washington on hold waiting for the conclusion of the Stallworth saga, is he going to be signed?

I think that Curtis would be a better and more experienced option to replace Booker with.

Right now, OL, DB, and WR are our main positions of need. There are no OL available that any good. So that should be a major draft need. But there are Hamlin available at FS and Curtis or Washington available at WR.

Maybe we should target Hamlin and Curtis so that it would leave us with better options come draft day.

This would make Levi Brown our obvious choice at #9. But if we dont sign Hamlin. Then Landry becomes a possibility as well.

But we should pursue Curtis. If we dont, then Ginn becomes a possibility as well.

I think Curtis is too small and too white. Just kidding.

I'd rather take one of these young kid's coming out of the draft. This is a deep WR class that's coming out. IMO, there's a plethora of talent in this class.

I wouldn't mind signing Washington because of his size and apparent up & coming status just so we're not forced to take a WR in the draft. It's always a good thing to keep the door open for BPA, that way you don't pin yourself into a corner.

Curtis is too small for my liking, just my opinion.

Edit: Maybe not small because come to think of it he may be around Chamber's height but he's not explosive enough for that height. Chambers might be 5-11 but he can play at 6-3. When he wants to.

:yeahthat:

let's sign hamlin to stabilize our secondary! but if we don't sign curtis, i also would like to see us drafting a wr in the 1st or 2nd round, this draft class got plenty of good receivers that can help us! :cooldude:

Yes, sign Hamlin and draft Ginn at #1.:cooldude:

Also, your Pm button is missing.:(

I'm trying to figure this out, if Hamlin is so good, why aren't more teams trying to sign him, it seems he's been out there in limbo land for awhile now..maybe I need to go back and review his Jag's stay a little more, but it's funny that he's not in big demand, especially since lesser, by you guys standards, safeties have been signed..to include us signing Worrell.

atleast he's not cuban lol:D

nah but seriously i would like us to sign curtis he is a good reciever and has some really fast speed on him to. he put up some huge numbers for a third reciever and someone playing behind torry holt and isaac bruce. he never has seemed to drop alot of ball and could be a good complement to booker and chambers out there particularly after not getting stallworth and losing welker.

and i know he is not the biggest reciever out there but neither was wes and he still was damn good for us and put up some good numbers.

only if the price isd right, no ginn in the first, the draft is stocked with WR's and last years best WR came outta the 7th round. Let's find us a Colston!

Washington will be a replacement for Welker, not Booker.

And you're overlooking a major area of need, DE. We currently only have 2 DE on the roster, the inexperienced Matt Roth and Jason Taylor, who lines up at LB a lot of the time now. Holliday can play some DE in the 3-4, but we definitely need a couple of more bodies here.

Hamlin and Yeremiah Bell are essentially the same guy. Both can hit. Both play the run very well. Bell is an outstanding blitzer. Both have some issues in coverage. Heck, Renaldo Hill is similar in that way too. Guy was essentially a 195-pound LB in Oakland.

Miami's looking for a center fiedler at safety. That's what they are/were hoping Jason Allen would bring them.

Curtis is the best available receiver now.

He is ranked the 29th best receiver in football. (Booker is #26). Yardage was low last year (479 yards). Catch % was an astounding (70%) (Only Eric Moulds was higher). So he is a small, but quick receiver with exceptional hands. He is an upgrade over Welker (ranked 46).

********
The only other potential upgrade would be Seattle's DJ Hacket(ranked #15). He is a Restricted Free Agent. 2nd round tender, i think.

Curtis is too small.... can people get their facts straight.... He's 5'11"... same size as Chris Chambers.... Wes Welker was 5'9"... probably 5'7" if he was telling the truth and he does pretty well.... Is it because he's white?

Thats a good question....If you want to sign K.Curtis to replace Welker (we would be paying him possible a little more than we would have paid welker and he still will not be a number 2 or 3 wr. I prefer signing Washington (to a nice contract peformance enriched), Keep Vick as PR/KR/etc (he is faster than welker and possible can grow into a good player---key thing is giving him a chance (the same we gave welker). Then draft a WR on day one.

I'd actually promote booker to #1 (he did lead the dolphins in receiving yards), use curtis as a #2, and move chambers to the slot.

Booker had 747 yards on 90 passes, Chambers had 677 yards on 153 passes.

*******
The alternative is Hagan, and/or draft somebody. It still might be wise to move/demote Chambers to the slot, since he has poor hands.

Curtis plays a lot smaller than Chambers.

He should be a target but there's some question on whether he's shutting us out. He seemed pretty single-minded about joining the Lions, and fired his agent Tom Condon when he perceived that Condon was not working very hard to make that happen. Whatever went on there, he's moved off the Lions now and is hovering around Philadelphia...but that looks like it may not be working either.

He knows the Martz system so that means he knows the basics of the Cameron system. He and Shaun McDonald have to be targets...but there's a serious possibility that Curtis is just asking for too much money.

How Curtis would fit into the offense would be he likely takes the Flanker position in 3-WR formations while Chambers moves inside. We may be more interested in Kelley Washington just because he may be more use to backing up Chad Johnson at Flanker than Curtis is...I wonder how much Curtis took the Flanker spot while Torry Holt was around.
