Do you think McKinney is starting over Rex at center only because Rex is playing better than any other lineman at RG right now? Or is McKinney better at the Center position?

I was hoping for an upgrade at the C position... thought Rex was going to be it....curious to see how our O-Line will shape by start of regular season..

what you guys think......

I think Mckinney is going to start b/c he is the second best center and Hadnot is the best guard. Since a center is usually helping out the guards he'll do the least damage there. I wonder what ever happened to Jason Ball who was an All Rookie selection w/ Houck w/ the chargers?

Don't know where Ball is...he's got an attitude and was already clamoring for huge money before he was even worth it. He's probably injured still.

It seems to me that Hadnot should move to C when Middleton starts playing...

Ball failed a physical...i wish he wouldnt have and was still on our team...at the time i thought he was the most underated Center in the NFL but that was just me

There's something to be said for not messing with success. We tried Hadnot at center and St. Clair at guard, the results on the running game against the Bears were awful. We tried McKinney and Hadnot, and all the sudden we've got Ricky running loose.

Yeah, Seth shot us in the foot once with the penalty and again when he snapped the shotgun too early, but hey with a lot more reps that could be correctable.

If Frank Middleton is going to creep into the starting lineup, I think he should do it at LG...

Jeno has been underwhelming that's for sure. Another over priced guy from carolina like howard.

Yeah but then you are ousting Jeno James and Jeno was our most consistent linemen last year ( some may argue St. Calir but not me ). Jeno hasn't done anything wrong to lose his job other than to get sick. Personally, I would like to see Hadnot at C and Middleton at RG for a game or two to see if we can't improve our line even more.

As it stands though, there is also something to be said about continuity and if these five develop a relationship with one another, than so be it. My bottom line is I just want what is best for the team to be successful.

An explosive center would do miracles for the OL, just like a young upfield beast at DT would shorten every play and make the D so much better, particularly a vulnerable secondary.

Just watch the center play of both teams when another NFL game is on TV, not involving the Dolphins. Then check out McKinney. You'll be sick in every organ. McKinney doesn't get off the ball and create instant advantage. I'm talking never. He is a battler who lacks special ability and that doesn't cut it at center, which Bill Parcells has correctly labeled the most vital OL position, even above LT.
