When Daunte was in, I never saw alot of deep balls. Daunte's biggest strength is his accuracy Deep. Booker can definately stretch the field, chambers not as much, but he still can.

Beg to differ, Daunte's strength was escaping pass rushers and having the defense worry if he would break a run, so they would play up and then he would launch the ball up in the air. His weakness was he never cared to learn the full offensive scheme when he was a Viking because he had Moss to bail him out when he put the ball in the air. Now that he can't escape rushers like he use to(due to injury and because of the O-Line), he was forced to become a pocket passer, which wasn't his style. Having said that, Mularky needs to loosen up and allow Scott L's offensive scheme to run its course like it did last season instead of trying to pick it apart and take a piece here and there. Once Daunte comes back healthy and knows the system better, you will see us stretch the field.

I think he needs to come out this week with the no-huddle. mix up the play calling a bit. but untill we go deep a bit more, the opposing d will NEVER back off the line, and the running game will never get started. the way this o-ling run blocks this will have to be a pass to set up the run kind of offense. they just can't seem to create holes for ronnie. MM probably wants to bring up vick so he can use him like randel l and run pass playes of of reverses, and such.

I'm not sure opening up some holes for ronnie is going to help much he will just duck his head and run into the back of the o-line for a two yard gain.

Brown runs into his guys because there is no hole. There isn't much time to decide if it will be there or not. And he still gets 2-3 yards when he is being tackled behind the line. When he has a slight gap, he gets 5-7 almost every time. I don't know what you want a back to do, run around in circles till every play is a 70 yard run?

Also, with the origional poster. Chambers is best at going long, his rookie year was sick, he can beat recievers and out jump them, we just haven't taken advantage.

I think the real question is...

Is Mularkey supposed to be Competent?
