Are the NYJ worried or motivated

And Mangini isn't the only one to blame. Brett Favre has played like a 39-year-old quarterback, throwing one touchdown and six interceptions in four games while appearing to lose some of the zip on his once rocket passes.
The defense, which was one of the best in the league early, has failed to generate much pressure on quarterbacks -- even against a makeshift Seahawks offensive line that was ravaged by injuries. Nose tackle Kris Jenkins has looked tired down the stretch after a dominating start, and the run defense has suffered. The pass defense is ranked 29th in the league and struggled all season.
"It's not just Brett on offense and it's not just Kris on defense," Mangini said. "It's all of us."

Sounds like to me this is a team ready to implode, but you never know with them playing at home. All I know is I want some to put a cap in the Fireman's backside.:D

The Jets just blow. Either they can suddenly for one afternoon start playing the way they were playing in Oct and early Nov. or they are going to get beaten again.

Personally, I think it would difficult to expect them to play the way they were the month before last and more likely they play the way they have in the last 4 games.

Favre is underthrowing everything and when he throws deep he is throwing complete ducks.

Jenkins has absolutely gone in the tank over the last month and their defense is not getting any pressure on the QB or stopping the run because of it.

They look OLD and TIRED.

Thier team is not playing well and has played progressivly worse as the season has gone on. They look old and tired. Farve has his Canton ticket punched, so, he's not really playing for anything other than stats now.........Even though he's definitly solidifing his INT record more than anything. It's a damn shame CP is not in the Pro Bowl. At this stage, CP is the better QB.

I think this is a team that has just hit a wall for whatever reason and they're in a tailspin trying to sort it all out and salvage their season. Favre has played very inconsistent down the stretch and he appears to be trying to do too much. When Favre does this, he tends to wait too long in the pocket for something to develop and when it doesn't, he forces balls into coverage. If our secondary can play lights out and the front four get a push off the ball and some pressure on Favre, we can make it a very long day in Jersey on Sunday. I'm curious to know what Sparano is doing to motivate a team that in all actuality, should not be in the position they're in. I know Chad will walk into Giants Stadium more confident and motivated than any other player on the team and we need that from our veteran leader. However, in the end, I think this is a very very close game with either team putting it on the leg of their kicker for the AFC East crown.

Hopefully we can jump on them early and get the fans booing them. They're a frustrated team but still very dangerous. The worst thing that can happen to Miami is letting the Jets get off to a fast start.

This is true. The Jets absolutely DO NOT play well from behind. Once they went down to Seattle, they looked as if they had given up.

ya i was just gonna ask, if we win the coin toss do you guys think we should kickoff first and hope r defense can shut them down first and gain momentum from that, but the negative side would be if they get a big opening drive for a score on r d which can demoralize us, or should we just take the ball and try to let r offense set the tone first and try to quiet the jet fans early?

I think we'll defer to the 2nd half if we win the coin toss. That's pretty much been our modus operandi this season.

One thing that may come into play is the weather. If wind is an issue, I'd much rather have the wind at my back in the 4th quarter.

It's a gamble regardless of what you do, but I like the idea of letting the defense get the 1st crack at the Jets. We stop them and we gain momentum. Might even get the boo birds out if the Jets go 3 and out.

They will be very motivated, don't let the clowns in the press fool you.

All of their J-O-B-s are on the line. The GM and Head Coach have their arses with great big bulls eyes spray painted on them.

There are rumors that both guys will get canned if they don't make the playoffs, so you know that they will be ready.

They are falling apart. With that said, this a division game with playoff spots on the line. It will be a dogfight to the end.

I guarantee you the Jets will be ready for this game but so will the Dolphins.I got a gut feeling this is gonna come down to a field goal and you know that nothing would make Mr.Feely happier than stick it to the phins if he hit the winning field goal after he got release from Miami!

I can see it.. and I think there has been an article or 2 hinting to the annual Brett Favre saga.. "Will he retire?" I believe the media machine will be all over this story. Talking about his age.. the beat up Jenkins..

Lucky for us Favre hasn't been apart of our rivalry, and he may not understand it as much as some of the other players. But you can never count Favre out of anything... You can never count the Jets out when it comes to playing us.

For them.. we're playing where they want us. It's going to be LOUD. It's going to be crazy... Thomas Jones is going to have a big game if we don't have Crowder in there. For some reason I am not as fearful as I was with the KC game.. maybe because we've finally gotten to this point. But you can be sure the Jets are using every story for locker room motivation. After all... they need it!
