Is offense the best defense?

Charley Casserly said it best
"A lot of it depends on what are the strengths of the person you hire, and how does he address the other areas where he might not be perceived to be strong."

A scoring offense does 'help' a defense by creating a 1 dimensional opponent ... so does a good running game, it limits the # of possessions and creates 'pressure' of sorts to make things happen on every possession ....

The offense can 'help' the defense by scoring points, and controling the clock ....

BUT the BEST defense is and ALWAYS will be a tough, hard nose DEFENSE that tackles well [still not one of our strong suits]; doesn't get 'tired'; and punishes the opponent !!

I'd rather listen to Stevie Wonder's opinion on redecorating my house than listen to Casserly's opinion on the NFL.

Yes. Colts, Rams a few years ago, Pats. They all have good offenses. I'd rather have a good offense than a good defense (look at our last 8 years)

A good offense puts pressure on the other team's offense, it tires out the other team's defense and changes their game plan. It also allows for your defense to rest.

Defense wins games, but your offense has to be able to score enough points for the lead.
