Is OL complete?

It's amazing how fans on here think Incrapito isn't bad. He is aweful. He is terrible at zone blocking. Everyone who is penciling him in as our starting LG is way off the mark. He will not be a starter in the new system. Did anyone actually watch him last year??
why not sign carrey to play rg.for the vet minn

Maybe YOU should have.

Our Oline is good, we can use some help in our guard position. Jerry and Incognito need to step up, wouldn't mind picking a veteran like Scott

I would love nothing more than to see Murtha play up to his athletic ability

His combine numbers blow away any offensive lineman that we have including
Long and Pouncey

40 yard dash
Pouncey....5.12 seconds
Long.........5.22 seconds
Murtha......4.82 seconds

10 yard split
Pouncey....1.78 seconds
Long.........1.75 seconds
Murtha......1.62 seconds

20 yard split
Pouncey...1.78 seconds
Long........1.75 seconds
Murtha.....1.62 seconds

Vertical leap
Pouncey... 25 inches
Long.........27.5 inches
Murtha......35 inches

Broad jump
Pouncey....8 feet
Long.........8 feet 6 inches
Murtha......9 feet 2 inches

3 cone drill
Pouncey...7.66 seconds
Long........7.44 seconds
Murtha.....7.06 seconds

Shuttle
Pouncey...4.64 seconds
Long........4.73 seconds
Murtha.....4.34 seconds

Bench press
Pouncey...did not participate
Long...37
Murtha 25

Martins poor 40 yard dash of 5.34 with the wind and 5.43 against the wind
his broad jump was only 8 feet 8 inches
His vertical was 30 inches which beat both Long and Pouncey
His bench press numbers were a poor 20 reps may be an indication
why a potential top 15 -20 pick slid to us in the second round.

Murtha's atheletic ability is very impressive but his play has not been the past few years
this doesn't mean he hasn't shown glimpses of what we all want him to be on a consistant basis.

If Murtha can somehow find himself we may have to find a place for him on this offensive line

You all seem to forget about Hicks. He is the most probable starter at RG as he got experience in the scheme. We will probably add 1 or 2 guards in next year's draft to replace both Hicks and/or Incognito who will both be FA after this year...

I'm just gonna put it out there . . . there is a chance Incognito doesn't even make the final roster. It is sad that he probably overachieved as a LG, and he truthfully wasn't great there. Heavy feet and made critical mental lapses that got QB's hurt during his tenure here, but to his credit, he was the best on our team (which is the sad part). Certainly not a great fit for a ZBS.

If I had to make an educated guess . . . this will be the OLine (assuming we make no signifcant additions after the June 1st cuts or in FA):

LT - Long
LG - Murtha
OC - Pouncey
RG - Hicks
RT - Martin

This also assumes Jonathan Martin making an early successful transition to RT . . . if not, Murtha could man down the RT spot as well.

Garner will remain as Mr. versatile . . . a guy who can man all 5 spots.
Incognito gets cut
Jerry becomes the main interior backup
Cook is the backup at Center.
9th spot will be for a youngster who makes minimum money and will be inactive on gamedays.

Incogs could get cut but it would most likely be to cut some cap space. Truth is, while he isn't terrible he is getting way overpayed this year. Now if a younger guy can take over the position with little to no drop off in talent can man the position, then I can see Incogs getting cut... Untill he's unseated, I'm certain he'll be going into training camp as the starting LG.

Garner should have a change to start at RG! He is currently the best RG we have

Two gappin

We need four tackles and a center like the old cowboys lin, sign vernon carey back dammit, they doing him the same way BIg Jamie Nails was done. Long jerry pouncey carey martin, WHo want some?? Igconito is mean but he has the footwork of alonzo mourning, he is clumsy as hell, How did he get a good grade, he stumble into the combo block on reggie bush long run at huffalo, most of all he cant pull worth a damn, Im serious!! I think he intentionally did not pull around on the pull plays instead he hits someone half ass thats already block, put the film in. I hope murtha wins rt so martin can play lg or sign carey

Man, I know it's a dream, but if we can resign Jake AND pick up Scott our line could be set for the next 3-4 years!

Two gappin

John Jerry played very well down the stretch, he is cleary our third best lineman, that goomar of a line coach last year just didnt like jerry, who the hell was he? he dismantle a prolific line. Everybody stop hating he did way better than garner at lt and was steady at both guards, he is going to be good watch!! well he is good!
