Is opening against he Pats a good thing???

If there's a time to play the Pats, it's week 1. We are installing a new offense that they have no tape on, so we should be able to hang with them even if we don't win.

If you're going to open the season with a brand new offense that nobody has much tape on, might as well open against the best team in your division.

Im pretty sure that NE knows a little about Dabolls offense. Its not like he has created an offense that has never been seen. That being said his offense did beat the pats last year, was it a fluke or what we shall see.

One thing for sure if we aint ready Belicheat will drop 50 on us.......something about knowing your opponent is coming to your crib to blow you out of the building gives you a sense of urgency like nothing else.....we got two more weeks to be ready......

We ve got to play them twice anyways, might as well play them week one. I think it ll be a close game. If we win the turnover battle we ve got a decent chance of winning. They aren't unbeatable.

Have you watched the Pats this preseason? They seem to be running a lot more 4-3 defense, that's new and we don't have a lot of tape on that. They're also clicking on all cylinders. They look pretty dominating so far in the preseason without game planning. Just basic sets and plays and they're executing very well.

They look dominating because they have run the same scheme with the same players for years now. Their players could do this in their sleep. I think we will have a few surprises in store on offense and defense. We have JT back, and you know how much Brady hates playing against him. I too (as was stated earlier), wish this was a 1pm game tho. We can use all the help we can get. As for predicting a win/loss.....I gave up on that years ago. I can't ever seem to get'em right anymore. I just hope we play competitive and of course WIN!!!!

last i checked all these players with no heart that quit in the last game were still here . Our defense didnt stop them in either game. Their defense got much better towards the end of the year and it will be a better defense. Over the last 5 games that defense held 4 teams to 7 points or less and gave up an average of like 9 points a game. so im not sure their defense is as bad as u think and Im not talking about because they aquired Haynesworth.
The 4 teams were Chicago, Jets, Dolphins and Bills. The 5th team was the Packers who put 27 on the board. The Pats were very opportunistic on defense. A +28 turnover ratio can be an offense like theirs best friend.

Since its in Miami its a good thing. If it were in NE it would be verry bad

It's the best thing. Either we show that we're better than any sound-minded person would believe we are, or we begin to implode and move on to a 1st RD QB.

It is good for us because a win would give the team great confidence that could lead to a playoff birth. It's also good because if they lose the sense of urgency would start to set in because the following week they will be playing Houston, a team they have never beaten. Can you imagine how much heat Sparano and Henne will feel? The Dolphins would then be forced to start either Matt Moore or go out and trade for a QB which is something most of us wanted all along anyway.

The 41 -14 drumming we got last year was a combination of special teams (kick off return for a td,and a blocked field goal returned for a td) a pick 6 and Brady having his way with the short pass(avg completion 6.1 yds)
this year i believe our special teams are much improved and if we can defend the intermediate pass,we may be able to come out with W.
