Our DT's are a joke and we're in a division that has 3 Pro Bowl caliber RB's in Martin, Dillon and McGahee! With the exception of Madison our entire secondary is suspect and our LB's (Thomas and Seau) are ageing.

We drafted 3 very nice players in Roth, Crowder and Daniels but lets not forget that their rooks! Does anyone honestly expect us to finish in the top 10 with 3 rookies expected to consistentley contribute and question marks at both DT positions and in the entire secondary?

McGahee is Pro Bowl material?? Are you a Bills fan? If you are going by stats, Kevin Jones is a more "Pro Bowl bound' running back than Willis at this juncture. Jones was the second best back in the league for the remaining seven games of last season.

Are you kidding me? There was no better back in the league the second half of the season. He scored 10 TDs in a 6 game span behind what was believed to be a weak offense line. Many 'experts' are predicting Willis to lead the league in rushing in just his second season. Its not far fetched at all to think Mcgahee is pro bowl material.

I forgot...now 7-8 games makes a Pro Bowler :rolleyes: Gee, I remember when only a decent season was needed to make someone a "definite" pro bowler the next year. TDs = Big Deal. Zack Crockett and Stacy mack have a lot of TDs over the past 3-4 years too, and look what mack did when they handed him the #1 job in Houston.

Last 8 games of last year:
McGahee = 655 rushing yards (156 attempts)
K.Jones = 906 rushing yards (172 attempts)

I think McGahee is solid, but I don't see him as anything more than an Eddie George. A plugger, who keeps plugging, and you never have to worry about a big run

Have patience.....YES our defense has a lot of new young guys, especially our d backs.....but these guys are hungry and we cant keep running old guys like Seau out there all the time....we have to prepare the next generation. :)

No 7-8 games dont make a pro bowler, but the fact that he said PRO BOWL CALIBER, i will say yes he did have reason to support that. Im not sure you are understanding this means he has shown the potential to play on the pro bowl level. And according to his stats in a certain span last year, he has. Is anyone placing him in the pro bowl before the season starts? nope, thats not what was said. Its no coincedence that once Mcgahee became the starter, Buffalo became an explosive offense.

Look at his game log!

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/gamelog?statsId=6359

If he had started every game he woulda finished the season with 1500yds and close to 20 rushing TD's!

As for the "are you a Bills fan" remark.

BLOW ME!

Mod Note: Those two words earn you 24 hrs off from posting. Don't start stuff like that in a thread.

You clearly know nothing about McGahee.

You could say it was a joke, it always got run down in the 4th quarters. I don't think you can say is a joke, because we don't know and have not seen the new players play.

People, can we please wait until at least a few preseason games??

I think you are wrong here. Willis, now that he is getting closer to 100% will be a threat to take it to the house every play.

And lets not forget that was only his first season in the NFL coming off one of the most freakish football injuries in recent memory.

For some on this board, saying a positive comment about a player on Buffalo qualifies you as a Bills fan.:rolleyes:

As a reply to what the post was originaly about: I don't see our defense as top 10. I do however think that it will be in the top 15. If we are able to have a defense in the top 15 and an offense in the top 15, then we will be very much in the playoff hunt. If we are balanced enough on both sides of the ball, we'll be in good shape. I think we'll be a GOOD football team on offense and defense. We'll be great at neither this year. NEXT YEAR will be a year to look at as possible top 10 defense and top 10 offense.

I too have major concerns with the D. But not at LB. The real problem will be DT. It seems the problem has been glossed over all off-season by both fans and the FO. An over-the-hill-over-weight DT (Traylor) and a DT who really is a DE (Carter) is not what I call addressing the situation. Bowens is done. Chester might be too. Zgonina isn't very good. And after that we have scrubs or 7th round projects. I am VERY worried about the DT position.......

I dont think that the entire D is a joke but DT is a major concern!

Kevin Carter - the only reliable DT on the roster.
Larry Chester - his knee is still a question mark!
Keith Traylor - he weighs 340+lbs and hes gonna be 36.
Dario Romero - hes a joke!
Kevin Vickerson - hes a 7th round rookie!
Jeff Zgonina - hes also gonna be 36 and he wouldnt even be on the roster if we had depth at the position!
