Is our O-Line improved?

Second off... Eich was signed under the vet contract rules. He's getting 2 m, but he only counts against the cap at a vet minimum rate. He really isn't costing us anything.

If he was OL8 or lower, I would agree, but I would take that risk and sign him as OL9 over Eich. Same minimum deal.

I wouldn't touch Wynn at this point. He's the most unreliable player I've ever seen.

I can see a situation where he's hurt in preseason (again) and we end up paying him all year long.

I think this is a very spot on/fair assessment tbh.

we have no idea what the ceiling is, but the floor should be better then what we have had, I would say on paper the 2023 line was alot better.. issue there was it never played at same time minus what the broncos game and we saw how that went XD.

if the rookies can adjust well, and they stay healthy it should definatly be the best line we fielded in awhile, and if thats the case I see alot better of a season for us then people predict.

but sadly its all a bunch of if's that we cannot quantify
 
Yes.

Replacing Eich and Jones who were both like bottom 5 guards in the league is enough for an improvement alone. Getting Jackson back should provide a big boost as well as our run game went to complete **** as soon as he went out.

Obviously losing Armstead sucks but Eich and jones were so bad and completely ruined both run and pass game last year.

Maybe but he’s good when he plays, he’s cheap and eventually if he ever wants to get paid anything decent, he needs to put together atleast one healthy season. As long as he is depth and not relied on as a starter then it’s fine. He was also a solid LT in the past so provides flexibility as well. You lose almost nothing by signing him for vet minimum.

Paul is opposite. Flashed brilliance last year in the pass but was inconsistent as most rookies are. Struggled with run blocking which was a knock on him coming out. Kind of confusing given his sheer size typically dudes that big just bulldoze people but struggle in pass but it’s the case for Paul for whatever reason.

The 49ers had a nice front, and they did manage to pressure Tua some, but man.....they really held their own with Wynn taking 50% of Eich's snaps, and Lamm filling in for Jackson. None of the 3 former graded well in run blocking last year, but they found a way to make it work on that occasion.

All that to say that I'm a bit surprised that they brought back Eich over Wynn, who would likely settle for a similar minimum contact at this point and provide better Tackle flexibility in a worst case scenario.

Maybe because Wynn can't stay healthy and played less snaps
the last 3 years combined (919) than Eichenberg (1035)
snaps played last season.

We haven’t seen the final O line and back ups chosen yet, there will be more comings and goings.
Unless someone has a crystal ball or named Nostro Damus this is all guesswork

I'm not picking on what you said, as I agree with you...but rather us Dolphins fans in general. We have been so beaten down that we now view 17 as an ok ranking.

McD should cut Eich immediately to make a statement. Like it or not he is the poster boy for the Fins inadequacy. Cutting him would turn the page and allow the team to distance themselves from past failures. He is nothing but a pariah at this point.

That said, if nobody gets hurt, you should be solid enough to be totally adequate in the operation of the offense.
