Is Our Schedule Really That Tough This Year?

Our defense was as basic and vanilla as our offense under Wanny. When I say pressure, Saban is known to mix up his coverages and put a lot of pressure on QB's, especially rookies. Believe me, we will be coming after JP.

That is completely the incorrect way of looking at Wanny's tenure. Wanny took over a program built up by JJ and did absolutely nothing to change it/improve it. In fact, his inability to make crucial decisions and his terrible GMing caused a slow deterioration from 11-5 to 4-12. Note how our record got worse every year. He didn't have us "consistantly winning for years", the system did. He couldn't even operate the system.

I don't doubt it, but can they stop Willis? Thats the gameplan, Willis. jp will not be asked to win any games this season, if he does its a plus.
 
Okay, since Willis is a UM guy, we do respect him, but we went after a lot of run stoppers this year. Especially, if Chester returns to health, we will have an excellent run defense. Even without Chester, we will be much better than last year. We had a predictable defense with NO run stoppers. It will be different this year.
 
Also, if we score with Linehan's high-power offense and you guys are behind, you won't be running Willis. Our boys will be teeing off on JP.

If thats the opinion of finfans, i'll except it. But didn't JJ contribute to the problems you're having now bad drafting poorly. Because thats the main problem with the fins org, your drafts have been pretty awful, not every pick, but overall retention of players.
 
Herm Edwards simply outcoached Wanny. That won't happen this year. I think the aging Curtis Martin and the gimpy Chad Pennington will be 2 reasons why the Jets won't be as effective this year.

Why are people trashing curtis martin so much because of his age?It obviously isnt having a negative effect yet. I for sure would want him as an addition on my team. Still, i really wish we had an easier scheduel and i think that is oneof our main downfalls for the following season.

You act like Linehan is bringing Minnys line, Qb, and Randy Moss.

Feeley has just as much to prove as Losman.

How did JJ draft poorly? THe majority of our best players were drafted by JJ. JJ's problem was in the 1st round of the draft (which was too bad), rounds 2-7, JJ was an excellent drafter. It has been Wanny's drafts that have killed us. He perianially picked up one good player/year in his tenure, that's not good enough in the NFL.

I don't know all the later round picks Jimmy made, but I do know that he stunk in the 1st, kinda an important round. Some finfan posted about Wanny however, that there are like 3 years of drafts with nobodyon the roster anymore...thats bad.
