All preseason Rader was considered to be #2 or #3 TE and on the last day of camp he gets bumped by rookie Massaaquoi who has not played a minute in the preseason. In the Opening game against the NFL Champs Massaquoi gets the call to travel with the team. No NFL playing time, No pre-season play and no chance of knowing what is in the playbook and Bingo...He jumps to the big time. Help me out somebody........I don't get this one!:fire:

Well he would have been the number 3 TE behind McMike and Peele, so its not like he would be much of a factor anyways. If McMike were to get hurt, I think they probably move Radar up, as he is the pass catching specialist of the TE's we carry (behind McMike of course). Peele is a better blocker and caught DC's first pass, so he is more ideal for what Saban is trying to do. Radar is on the PS, he will be ok there for now . . . I'm guessing Massaquoi is a better blocker (don't know much about him) and fits Mularky's schemes better . . . and there is only one guy to worry about at the TE position that can hurt u on offense, if we get anything from the blocking TE's consider that a bonus. Radar is still young and maybe next year he makes the team if he imporves his blocking.

Remember...Coach is only carrying 1 FB...if Barnes gets hurt, they'll put a tightend in the backfield to 'go low'...maybe that's what Coach is considering with regards to Massaquoi...(jmo)

Nah, we would likely resign Beasley or even more likely . . . put Morris in the FB position when he comes back from suspension. I truly think Massaquoi is a more effective blocker and since the team runs alot of 2 TE sets with a premium on blocking from the TE, Massaquoi is a better option then Radar.

answer: Mike Mularkey:shakeno:

Massaquoi is reported to be a good special team player. Rader will likely spend the year on PS unless injuries change things.

Rader was never the #2 TE during the pre-season. Peele has been that guy all along.

Obviously Saban & Mularky saw something in Massaquoi they didn't see in Rader, like solid blocking is my guess. Rader is OK on the PS, still gets paid his salary, needs a year to develop, and was never higher than #3 TE anyway. Its not like he would have seen any playing time. Massaquoi is obviously more valuable because of his ST abilities.
