Is Ricky hurting Ronnie?

As I said above arnoldu, its might be the moneys available to be earned in years 2,3,4,5 that matter the most. This years +/- may not be much of the % of the contract they are overly concerned with.

I wonder how much more enjoyable this offseason would have been if RW had just stayed gone.
Would be in a ****ty spot right about now. Brown needs to handle himself. Ricky needs to do the same. If Ronnie cant take care of his business without worrying about another player on the team (there will always be other players) he is in for a world of hurt. Which also hurts the 'fins.

What in the world has Ronnie ever done to make you think he is ready to start in the NFL? Well besides be an early pick and have lots of money coming his way. Saban will play the best player he has at every position. Ricky has a ton of talent and lots of experience.

At this point, I find a serious problem thinking Ronnie will be able to start for any team within the first half of the season. Especially with as much depth that the Dolphins have at RB.

I think Sban and Linehan had a very clean slate when they came to teh team. So Rickys past transgression means very little in if he or Ronnie starts. Ronnie probably has many more black marks against him then Ricky does right now, at least for the current coaches/decision makers.

Ronnie was buried on the depth chart in college, I find it much more likely that it will continue at the pro level considering he was drafted for his "utility" skills, not his pure running skills. As was pointed out elsewhere, the majority of individual coaching will end within 3 weeks. This holdout has put him way behind. Way, way behind.

Calm down and take some deep breaths! I have always said that Ronnie is unproven in the NFL and as far as we know, he could be a bust. What I was saying was purely hypothetical and based only on what I think is being used in the negotiations between the two sides - NOT what I personally feel. Read and comprehend before you react so negatively to a post. Geez.

Not being negative.

Trying to be realistic.

This quote was being optimistic, I know...
Ronnie will more thn likely be the starter at the start of the season and may remain the starter when Ricky gets back from suspension.
But I found it to be way off the mark. You said likely, I would venture its unlikely. And stated why.

Ronnie more than likely WILL be the starter in game one. It certainly won't be Ricky. And if Ronnie does play well, why would they supplant him as the starter in favor of Ricky just for the sake of doing it? Believe me, I know Ricky is a rare talent and I also feel he is a better runner than Ronnie. But Ricky will not come off of his suspension and take over as the starter in the back field if Ronnie is doing well.

No doubt Ricky being here is playing into the negotiations to some degree. But both Ronnie na dhis agent know that Ronnie is the RB of the future and they also know that Ronnie will more thn likely be the starter at the start of the season and may remain the starter when Ricky gets back from suspension. Both sides are using Ricky as a negotiating tool. From the Dolphins side, they are saying we have RW and several others so Ronnie's value to us is not quite what you are looking for. And France and Ronnie are saying that with Ricky there, why should they take less guaranteed money and more incentive money when, with RW around, it will be harder to reach the incentives. BLAH BLAH BLAH. i just wish they'd get it over with.

:yeahthat:

This isn't about anything but guarenteed money, incentives aren't even in this equation. Dolphins are offerring (from what I've heard) between 1st pick and 3rd pick signing bonus...it's just closer to the 3rd pick than the agent wants...he wants it close to the 1st pick money.

Listen...any way you look at it, the longer he stays out, the more he is hurting himself. If he continues to holdout he may not even start the season as the #1 rb. With all the sports agents out there why in the heck did he sign with a rook agent? I dont think Saban will just hand him the position because he was the 2nd overall pick. He, like everybody else, will have to earn it. So get in camp..ASAP!!!
