Okay, I got the idea of this from Madden, so don't get angry, I have a point at the end.

First of all, it angered me on the latest update (a long time ago) that Ricky's stats went way down after a pretty good year imo. His overall dropped from 89 to 83.

I don't have the previous stats but check out the current ones:

Speed - 89 (Ronnie has 91, Cobbs has 88. I think he deserves something in the low 90's)

Agility - 87
Acceleration - 91
Trucking - 84
Elusiveness - 79 (I think Ronnie has like 86, and Cobbs has 84)
Ball carrier vision - 84 (Ronnie has 90)
Stiff arm - 78 (Ronnie has 86 and cobbs has something slightly higher than Ricky)
Catching - 72 (Ronnie has 80, Cobbs has 85)

also for comparison, Cobbs' overall is 80. I didn't write down any blocking stats, but I feel they shouldn't be as low as most running backs, considering how he sacrifices himself for blocks so often.

My biggest gripes here are the speed, acceleration, ball carrier vsion, elusiveness, stiff arm, and catching. I honestly believe that he excels in those areas very well.

So now to the point, is that how the rest of the league and anyone else views Ricky? Almost as valuable as a 3rd string running back? I think he preformed well this year, and is underrated. Maybe due to the pot problems. But if Ronnie were to go down, who would you rather have start Ricky Williams or Patrick Cobbs?

First off you are griping about a game!!! Second of all most of what they base their stats and etc is by what the player did the previous year and age and injuries from past years. What we have in Ricky is a player that hasn't played a whole lot the past few years and he has gotten a few injuries aside from that. I think they take into consideration that he is old for a running back and his injuries etc so obviously he will be slower than some younger guys.

And personally for me I would go with the younger guy. Ricky is not the same guy he was in years past. And I have several of the madden games and alot of times i trade Ricky for somebody I can use in another position.

Ricky Williams is overrated. I would feel fine with Cobbs and a rookie backing up R. Brown.

Ricky is underrated I think.

People take the whole weed smoking thing so out of proportion. If you polled Americans and asked who smoked reef guarantee it is over 50%

He was out of football for a few years, stays in incredible shape, keeps to himself, and has an incredible burst of speed/power.

Ronnie is under-rated as well as Ricky.
Oh and Cobbs is too.
We have a great backfield, and when Ricky finally hangs up the pads I have no problem with having Cobbs as a backup.

Ricky is overrated he isnt the same player he was back in 2002 people need to relize that he is a decent back up nothing more

I will put it to you this way; before he retired no he was not underrated but now he is. I do have to agree with #1dolphinsfan he still is not the same player but he is still underrated. I say this because we are not comparing apples to apples in o2 he was younger and had more carries now he is older he still has the speed or almost the same speed but does not get the same amount of carries and I can see some of that potential in him if he were to be given more carries he would be more successful because he is not getting the carries as he did late in the game and get the chance to get hot and break more long runs. i hope I explained myself clearly.

Ricky is extremely overrated at this point where as some people actually think he is better than Ronnie.

I don't know really but he got a lot of unblocked yardage for us last year; a lot.

He also had a couple break away touchdowns called back on holding penalties.

I don't see any loss of speed, although there does seem to more finesse there and less raging meanness.

He used to abuse more would be tacklers, but then again I saw him make some vicious hits while blocking.

I think we ar very fortunate to have this tandem and I really hope they upgrade the line.

We could have had Stacey Andrews at 5 mil a year and moved Carey over.

Anyone who thinks Ricky Williams is overrated needs to open their eyes a little bit. This guy is still great, people are trying to compare him to 02 saying "he isnt what he was in 02" I tend to agree because I believe he ran with a lot more power then. Anyone remember what happened when someone stepped in front of Ricky that year? It wasnt pretty. But what angers me the most is people trying to say he isnt as good as he was in 02, yet you can not say that until he starts getting 30+ carries a game and see what type of stats he produces.

I actually do believe Ricky Williams is underrated now, I wish he had the chance to start still. Who knows maybe he will get traded to a starting job put up better numbers then Ronnie, and he will put a sock in the mouth of half the people on this board

But I would much rather keep him and Ronnie together, love em both.

He's good. These people talking trash don't realize the line wasn't very good at runblocking. If we get a better center and maybe a beefy guard then he will average 4.7 YPC+ and so will Ronnie.
