It is the topic of the day to discuss "Whither the Beck or Green or C-pep" will they do "X" and can we count on them?

I disagree, the key to our season is Ronnie Brown, IMO, if he performs, if he stays healthy, we can have a great season even with Cleo Lemon starting, soo many ex QB's have said that "A good running game is a Quarterbacks best friend" that it should be looked at as a truism.

After all of the three who we are looking at, all of them have more talent in them then Jay Fiedler ever had, the difference is that Fiedler won games, he won ugly, and it was boring wacthing Ricky run the ball 30+ times a game, but we did win.

Ricky may be gone, done, a statistic of lack of self control, but Ronnie Brown is here, and we have a weak QB pool (so far) we have a #1 pick with a bum foot and Chambers may or may not decide that he wants to play hard this year.

For me, I would prefer watching Ronnie run the ball 20+ times a game and kick field goals if it wins us games, IMO Schlesinger or Solai may be the most popular players on thsi board in November this year, because we may be seeing heavy heavy doses of off tackle dives with either one of them lead blocking for Ronnie.

Look at our schedule folks, are tough games are UpNorth this year Buffalo, Cincy (I think) NY, all late in the year, all in cold weather.

Our stocky Ronnie Brown may run for 1,600+ this year if he gets the carries, after all, can anyone see a dominant game by either Ginn or Chambers or even M*A*S*H Martin our tight end?

Looking at our talent pool on Offense, Ronnie Brown is may be the best thing that we have going into the '07 season, except for Chambers, no one else really has stepped up and won games in the recent past.

For me the key to the season will be the offensive line. If all the changes being made to there (Carey to LT, Shelton to RT, etc) doesn't pan out, it will be a long year for whomever is at quarterback and running back.

there is nothing i'd like to see more than ronnie have a great year (and career). once he breaks off a couple of long runs, watch out. i think ricky's longest run from scrimmage with new orleans was about 25 yards. once he got here he eventually broke a couple of long ones, and it became part of his game. let's hope ronnie can accomplish the same feat.

I think the oline will be more important for the running game. If the holes are there, Ronnie will tear it up.

The biggest thing with him will be staying healty for the whole year. Hasn't done that yet. Nothing really big, but next year we cant afford him out any games.

Fiedler won games? Did I somehow miss Miami's great playoff runs with Jay under center. Matter of fact the Dolphins disspelled the age old, tried and true, often preached theory that a great defense and great runing game wins championships. Hell Jay couldn't even get into the playoffs with both.

That being said I agree with the rest of your post. I was optamistic last year that our offense would be all that and a bag of chips, this year I'm not being sucked into it. I think if (big if) the Dolphins do anything it will be with a ugly, boring offense. Which means Brown will have to be the man.

No..

The key to this season is the offensive line. If it does its job... Ronnie will do his with no problem. And the QBs will do theirs with time to throw the ball.

The KEY to this season is the offensive line...

of course ronnie is the key, but as everyone else is saying...the o-line is number one. they let the running game and the passing game down all year last season, granted the fact that our qb situation was terrrible. also, we'll miss mcmichael's receiving abilities, but lets face it...we can put anyone in the te spot that can block better than he did last year.

A fellow fan after my own heart, except Fielder did win games, we may see "And "X" hands off to Ronnie following behind "X" off tackle gaining 5 yards"

We are not at "Air Coryell" level just yet, in the meantime, "Air Coryell" started with Kenny Anderson, and then moved on to Fouts.

The O-Line at the end of the season was pretty good, it took the loss at Cleveland to make them perform, when it no longer mattered.

Either way folks, the "key" to our season isn't Beck, or Green or C-Pep, it is Ronnie Brown. Think about it, you are the new Head Coach, you know offense, you take a look over our offense, and who is the only player who stands out?

Put it another way, it is the 4th qtr, we need to go 40 yards, who do we look too?

"Gee Beck will win the game for us"

or

"Hand off to Ronnie Brown"?

"IF" Ronnie shines he will bring Beck along with him.

it all starts at the line. 80% of a teams running game comes from their line. that's why any running back in denver looks good, any running back in pittsburgh looks really good, KC, IND, etc

Are you kidding? A running back being the key to a season?

Can you say QUARTERBACK???? He just happens to touch the ball on every snap.

Really? Can you name one QB who started in Detroit while Barry Sanders was there when they went to the playoffs? How about Ricky? How many O-lineman have we sent to the Pro bowl even when Ricky gained 1,800yds? Don't put the cart in front of the horse, we are going to be seeing Ronnie early and often this year, personally I would like to skip over Trent Green and hand the reins over to Beck, unless C-Pep can play. Even if C-Pep can play though, my gut tells me to start Beck and let him take his lumps I think he will do fine, with Ronnie and Ginn and Booker, Chambers is unknown and at this point in his career, that seems strange indeed.

The key this season is a healthy QB to play all season at a high level.JMO

Interesting way to look at it brother man. I was either leaning towards the line or consistant play at WR from 1-4. But then again you could say it's Ronnie because our entire offense will literally go through him. Cam knows he's our best player on O and that we have to get him and Chambers the ball.

Your point on the QB though is key, I think healthy consistant game managing and limited mistakes/sacks will get us in the playoffs. (Keeping in mind that the line plays like it did in the 2nd half of the season.)

I guess you could say the key to our team is the offense, if we get those 2 or 3 questions answerd, we're a playoff team. I wouldn't say it's Ronnie though simply because I'm 100% confident he'll do fine.

You're putting confidence in Booker and Ginn already, but expressing concern with Chambers? That really makes no sense to me.
