Hickey got a bad contract to say the least. Both he and Philbin are going to try to win in 2014 to save their job. My question....Is this team there yet? On paper we are talented. Great young Qb, WR, and pass rushers. Unfortunately our pass protection, running game, and defense took a step back in 2013. Will Philbin and Hickey mortgage the teams future to try to save their jobs?

It makes little sense why Ireland isnt here to finish what hes been building based on the news of Hickeys contract. Looking like Ross was sick of Ireland.

It's a win now league. Hiring Hickey a mistake? We won't know that for at least another year.

I actually like these win now situations. It gives me hope they offer a nice contract to a LT/guard in free agency and go BPA in the draft. It should always be BPA, look at all the talent the 49ers drafted going BPA the past decade and all they needed was a headcoach to orchestrate the talent, and now resulting to playoffs.
