Someone on here previously said that Saban was coaching the Sr bowl. Is he or was that a false statement? IMO that would really give him a good relationship with some players and really get a feel for what guys cut it for "Saban type players" Of course he could probably pick up on this stuff from the stands but IDK just curious if he is doing that

How do the coaches get selected to coach the Senior Bowl. It seems like they would have an advantage by being the coaches because they'd have more access to potential draftees.

i think they ask to do it

No, its based on worst record from the just completed NFL season. However, a team has to have a coaching staff in place as well.

So Texans with no coach until this week were passed over, same with Saints since they didnt have a staff in time.

So that meant #3 team the Titans and their intact staff got the option. They could have passed, but that would have been silly....and it meant the choice would have continued down the line to the team with a staff that was ready. So 49ers got the other side since Jets, Packers and Oakland had coaching issues.

make sense?

That's why when Coach Saban says he wished his staff could coach the Senior Bowl cause it does help better evaluate and build relationships, etc.....I stated in another post.....as a Fan I am happy the Dolphin Coaches are in the stands and not on the sidelines....:D
