Saban's return, and transition to the NFL, can be defined by a number of timely and key decisions, shrewdly made while circumnavigating his inaugural season as an NFL head coach, one he has commanded with absolute conviction, and extraordinary vision.
Even during our mid season slide, nearly everything (outside of our bizarre penalty outbreak), has unfolded almost like a blueprint, complete with flowcharts for the "what if's" along the way.

Do you believe Saban had already made up his mind, prior to last years season with LSU, and was headed to the NFL win or lose, last December?

That even if it hadn't played out, just as it did with Wanny's departure, Saban was NFL bound regardless, and would of simply accepted another team's proposal, that offered the next best situation?

I truely think everything just fell into place all across the board. The time that we interviewed him matched with every other detail just made it seem right for Saban to enter the NFL. I think he would've entered the NFL eventually and likely sooner than later, but if not with us, then qwuite possibly not for a few more years.

Personally I think he would've liked to have a few more years at LSU but we made an offer he just couldn't refuse.

Was just wondering how thorough he might of been, anticipating talent, and sizing up their projected potentials, as we now look ahead to a second draft.

after the 03 season it was rumored that Saban wanted our head coaching job, but it wasn't open. Eveyrbody then thought he would go to the Bears, but he declined that job (which is why Wilbon on PTI shows some hatred towards Saban.)

Last year when he accepted the job everybody then came out and said that he had been targeting the Miami HC job since 03, and that was the only way he was leaving LSU.

I don't know how true all of it was, but I honestly believe that Saban would still be at LSU until we offered him a job.

I'm sure that he has been planning his return to the NFL for several years and formulating ideas and plans of how to succeed. I don't think he was planning to return to the NFL no matter what offer was given him, it still had to be the right offer. He knew what he wanted and what situation he would and would not return to. He paid attention, I'm sure, to Coach Visor's demise and BB's success to plan his way. I also think that some of his blueprint plans didn't work the way he thought they would (I don't think he signed Frerotte to be the starter, I don't think that he thought the secondary would struggle like it did)...Either way, the man is a calculating, success driven man who we are lucky to have...

NOt just that...
