There was a lot made yesterday of the comments by Saban after the game. The Sunday night guys (who I have decreasing respect for every week), talked about Saban basically throwing his players under the bus and seeming to try and seperate himself from the team's performance.

"I don't know how to coach someone to do something they should already know how to do" or something like that. I've been looking around to see if this was being talked about and I haven't seen it mentioned on this board.

-Does anyone here think Nick Saban may lose the team?
-Could those comments make the players think the coach doesn't have thier backs?
-Will he be able to 'coach them up' if they think he's trying to distance himself from them?

The perception I've gotten is that Saban is going to great lengths to defend his incompetent players. Maybe even to a fault IMO.

Is Saban losing the team?

NAWLINSBUC: he has already lost it!! he isnt "losing it",

its over with a capital O!!

he lost the team weeks ago.

and he will NEVER get it back!!

You are 100% correct, he has fallen on the sword for his underperforming team.

I enjoy his press conferences, his radio show, and i think he's the right man for this team for a long long time.

He isn't losing them, He lost them a long time ago...Saban is not the answer.

''This is worse than two years ago,'' said linebacker Zach Thomas, of the 4-12 season that removed former coach Dave Wannstedt.

Youre right. He shouldnt throw them under the bus, he should throw them on the bus! The one that goes out of town.

NAWLINSBUC: whay dont you "respect them"? because they tell the
truth and it hurts?

when has you seen nick admit to or make himself accountable for
ANYTHING so far? not one time!!

everyone and everything is to blame but the great nick. as i have
said, over and over, this guy is an ego maniac of the HIGHEST ORDER!

andnow he is doing what all of his type do, becomes incoherant in
his explanations. he is starting top ramble off stuff that makes NO
sense in press confrences and the media is starting to take him to
task over it. its just plain wierd how he goes into these garbled
bipolar rants. he actually may very well be bipolar and need some
councelling and meds.

and i am not saying this in jest or to make fun. he is starting to
act very odd.

look at todays sun about saban and they are pointing out his
"no one can understand" rants and explanations.

sorry bro, im a dolphinist, and i want what is best for them....im just not a fickle fan, who can't suck it up and realize that overreacting after every loss isn't the proper way to deal with it. the team needs to rebuild....how do you do that when you inherit a 4-12 team void of draft picks, in salary cap hell? i feel that if you would look at this a little more rationally, you would realize that Firing Saban, will yet again set us back several years...and is a 'knee jerk'
reaction.

You can carry that type of attitude around, as it is your perogative, but i have noticed every chance you get, you trash saban....i just don't agree with expecting a superbowl in year 2, or even playoffs, while nice..wouldn't prepare this team to be dominant in the future. I suppose some people would rather just be absolutely negative and miserable, personally I don't.

The question isn't whether Saban has lost the team, because he clearly has.
The question is, should the team lose Saban.

I'm not sure he has lost the team. But what I do find confusing is that the identity of the team is a question mark.

His selection of Mularkey is depressing. I wonder if his position as GM should be reevaluated.
