............what is it with head coaches and what appears to be their ego's getting in the way of the QB position? Is Saban too prideful to give somebody else a chance?

HIS GUY?? Ronnie Brown was HIS guy. How about his Guy Donnie Jones. Those two were much more of Saban's then Gus. You know what's funny is that last year, we were trashing the flip flop of QB's.

Was that a diversion tactic? Or do you just not want to answer the question?

Right about now, Id take Fiedler back over Gus

Gus is his guy? FUnny, I didn't know this.

Gus was brought in with the OC to compete because he knew the offense.

I was thinking the same thing. When Fiedler had protection in his first 2 seasons he was decent. But in all honesty, I'm tired of journeymen QB's........it sickens me..........

So wait, Saban hires Linehan, then signs Frerrotte............. Sounds to me like Saban's guy alright, even if Linehan had offered his advice on signing Gus.

Saban is sticking with gus for one simple reason. When the season over, we can blame it on gus. cut him. and start over new. and to the public it still looks like Saban gave it an honest effort, even though he probably knew all along he would need another offseason to find a real qb.

Uh, no. Gus Frerotte never had any sort of promise of long-term success. He's a stop gap, and everyone all but admitted it.

Rosenfels has consistantly been considered by multiple coaches not starter quality, or up until this season, even 2nd string quality.

Feeley was just bad.

Lemon hasnt had a chance to actually learn the system yet. If Frerotte starts ****ting the bed, and Lemon doesnt really get a chance, then there should be some speculation about this.

Actually, honestly I dont see why this speculation should start until we have a good chance to get ourselves another quarterback and we pass.

If Gus is here because of Linehan that would mean he is Linehan's guy. Makes sense to me.

How quickly we forget Saban makes all personnel decisions. Linehan's strictly there to design the offense. Gus was Linehan's advice...........and Saban's choice.

I believe Linehan was the right guy to bring in. I didn't like the 2nd reverse call today, but every other time we've used it its been huge.

Did I like the 3rd and 2nd call? Nope, but was it a bad call in that situation? Not really. I hated the choice on the throw. And we should have ran the ball. We knew we were getting a risker play calling with linehan. We had been running the ball well. If we would have just had brown or ricky in there, with a full back instead, I thinkthe play call works. But with RnR both in, we've been passing 90% of the time. Kinda tips your hand there.

What other options did we have at QB? Feely? Who showed he couldn't even compete with sage? Trent Dilfer was available. True, we could have kept fielder.

Draft choices. I like our choices through the first 3 rounds. Would you rather have brown, smith, or rodgers? Yeah, I like brown too.

Late rounds. He said he would have drafted McPherson if he was there after the saints snagged him. Evidently he hasn't worked out though.

Gus was a stop gap brought in because it was a new offense, and it was the right move at the time. He has lost the ability to manage the game. he did ok during the first 3 weeks of the season. Looked great in week one. Good in week 3.

Is it time for a change? I believe so. Gus was brought in for one year, unless he had a great year. Which, obviously hes not.

Next year Saban goes for HIS guy.

Right now, his buys are brown, daniels, crowder. Their working pretty good if you ask me.

Ok, we had 2 back-ups and the lesser of 2 evils got the job. We traded the more evil of the 2 and now we have a back-up and 2 back-ups to the back-up. Who is he susposed to start? Sage could not beat out AJ and Jay so clearly there is something wrong with him!

the only "his guy" that isnt working is linehan...gus frerrote is a stop gap like someone else said...and with the new QB we need a new OC
