Do you guys think that Schesinger is a good pick up and how long do you guys think he will be able to help us ?

I think schesinger is a good pick up but he will only be able to help us for 3-4 years.

I think he'll make our running game much better, especially in short yardage situations where we've been struggling at times to convert. He may only be here for a year or two, but I expect him to make our offense more productive. I'm sure Ronnie / Ricky will haver no complaints....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

wayyy better than barnes...

kinda funny we cut HEATH EVANS,
the patties pick him up, he has 3 0r 4 killer games for them...
is a free agent, and what happens?
the pats resign him.

stupid saban shouldnt have cut him...
but imo schsilngeger is good, in the way we need him to be(lorenzo neal style kid).

Yes he his a very good blocker, to be really efficient we need him to become somewhat of a pass catching FB. If opposing players key on our RB and our FB is open but we don't throw to them, what good is that?
I say throw it to him, make him score TD's.

I doubt he has more than 2 years in him. And I still hold out hope that Miami drafts LeRon McClain this year. Would be good for him to learn the ropes from Cory for a couple years then he could step in as our FB of the future. Fullback isn't a prominent position in the NFL anymore but a good lead blocker can really change the face of an offense. or at least the running game. That's what Cory and LeRon are, good lead blockers. From what I understand Cory is also a decent recieving target which will be nice. Maybe McClain can learn some of those skills.

But to answer your question I think he'll be a good pickup for us and I'm sure he'll make Ricky/Ronnie more productive but I don't think he's the long term answer at the position.

didja listen to his presser? I think this is a VERY good pickup... and I want one of his broken facemasks for Christmas !!!

Great Pickup, I believe Ronnie/Ricky? will have much bigger whole to run through. I see that he would probably have bout 4-6 more years. Similiar to Neal, due to their play but also the type of running backs they have behind them, the only have to do so much and the RB is gone (LT and coming up RB)

Its definitely a solid pickup. Good blocker, underrated receiver and runner as well that has really hasn't been involved enough in Detroits offense. Hopefully Cam fixes that here.

But Heath isn't a blocking back. Never was. That's why he was let go.

I will hold out and see what this guy does, Beasly was supposed to be a monster last year and got beat out by Barnes.

4-6 years? You really think he's going to be in the NFL when he's 41 years old? I would be shocked if he made it that long. Also you can't compare Ronnie Brown to LaDanian Tomlinson. Ronnie Brown to this point in his career has shown that he's injury prone and can't carry the weight of being a featured back. LaDanian Tomlinson has done nothing but shatter records and make the entire team around him better.

Anyone who breaks that many masks must be laying the lumber to the other team! Bring him on, we need that kind of toughness. 2 or three years from him and I'll be happy, blocking FB's don't usually have very long careers, and he's already been around a while.
