If your D is creating turn overs an making teams kick field goals while you are scoring TDs on offense then yes yards dont matter. If our O keeps putiing up over 25 a game while only racking up 200-300 yards then what diff does it make. Last I checked the score board reflected TDs, FG, and Safties not yardage.
the only stat that matters is 3-0. nothing else. Bend but dont break defense, the pats have been that for years! top 5 yards against defense, thats the JETS, how has that worked out. Playing good second half football.
Who the hell is making the argument that tds, fgs, and safeties don't matter?
Try staying on topic. If you really think yardage is meaningless, I guess I should just stop wasting my time trying to point out what should be fairly obvious. There is a strong correlation between yardage allowed and points allowed. The same goes with yardage gained and points scored.
We are currently ranked #26 in overall Defense, and #22 in overall Offense ... yet we're 3-0. I'm thinking, if we don't improve either ranking, this current success will be unsustainable over the long haul.
Am I missing something here? I know its a small sample size, but could it be that our special teams is picking up the slack?
