saved by the D once again. seems like when the mularky is taken out of the offense - when we run shotgun - we move the ball, but when we run mularky's stuff we struggle with consistency and rythem. sure wish nick would just can the guy and promote baggett to, like he said in the offseason, run the same offense we ran last year. then our offense might actually win a game for us...

funny but i don't think its the playcalling as much as it is JH and RB's lack of vision.

i agree on both accounts, but at the same time it's the OC's job to put his players in the best position to succeed and though i don't have access to the all 22 tapes, im confident mulkary hasn't done this.

Were you watching when the Phins put up 31 on the Bears?

Dude. You're almost comically wrong. At the beginning of the year Mularkey was running Linehan's offense without much of his own stuff. He did this so it would be easier for the players since they knew that offense from last season. But it didn't catch and so after several games of offensive stagnation, Mularkey finally shelved the Linehan stuff and went with more of his own sets. That's when we started moving the ball. The one thing Mularkey may want to consider would be coordinating from the sideline rather than the box. What he would lose in perspective might be more than offset by the time he'd save and the face to face give and take with the players. In the future you may want to add some substance to your threads or people will just ignore you.

The defense has been doing both of those lately.

I wonder if JT plays QB.

The Defensive unit has really caught fire the last 3 games. Our offensive needs to be able to put a good drive together and finish with a TD.
And continue that all game.

We need a few more things for this offense to start clicking:

1) The left side of the OL to start generating some push. It seems teams know that Shelton and Carey are roadgraders and stack their defenses to that side. Whether McIntosh (who has been doing a good job in pass protection) and Jeno James can do that this season remains to be seen.

2) Joey Harrington. He has managed the games admirably but still has the propensity to make that one awful play a game and fade late in the game.

3) Playcalling. This area has become better over the last few months. We don't see as many double reverse, fake halfback option, flea flicker screens as we saw earlier. That "cutesy" stuff just wasn't working.

4) Ronnie Brown is a damned good running back. Is he a Ricky Williams caliber running back at this stage of his career? No. But we don't need him to be. Just keep pounding that ball and give us 4 yards a crack and keep the chains moving with an occasional big gainer thrown in. That's a key element in winning football.

According to my calculations, the O has actually won it 4 out of 10 times this year!!

So when we were down 13 to 10 yesterday, and the offense didn't score another point . . and the defense scored 14 points . . . the Offense won it today? I don't get that at all.
