We just can't get a running game going (Ireland just CAN NOT Assemble an O-line) and we don't have the superstar receiver we need. Wallace is not a superstar. IF we could run the ball and make play-action believable, then Wallace would be very useful. But, we can't and he isn't. Tannehill just can't seem to throw it out in front of him and he doesn't fight for it enough in traffic.
You play the game to win the Supebowl. That 2008 team was a bunch of crap that was nice while it lasted but that team was going nowhere and this team is going nowhere even without the injuries. We have zero superstars. Cam Wake is the best player we have and he disappears for games at a time. Lamar Miller is a nice back but needs great blocking to make a single yard on a play. Brent Grimes is a really good corner but he's short and not a superstar.
The elite teams have supestars. Broncos have 3 receivers that are better than our best one. The Patriots have, now, a nearly-instoppable TE and a QB who can put a team on his back and carry them to victory.
Miami needed everything to break right for them to be a playoff team and that hasn't happened because it just doesn't work that way. Our weakest links keep breaking like wet tissue paper and we don't have the players to overcompensate. Stars carry you and Miami is way too thin at the 'star' position.
