I don't know if you all saw this but on our first drive of the 2nd Quarter, Rex Hadnot received a personal foul when he started knocking guys off of Marty Booker who was gang tackled at the end of a 3rd down play short of a first down (they were hitting him so hard Booker's helmet was knocked off). The penalty didn't really affect anything because it was still a 4th down punting situation regardless but that entire offense walked off the field on that play just totally fired up. The very next play, Hester muffed the punt and the Phins were in business at the Chicago 6 yard line. Booker gets the pass in the endzone for a TD. Playing with intensity!! Sometimes it takes a strange string of events to get a team to rally behind each other and make something positive happen. Just an observation.

There are good penalties. I would say the one with Hadnot was coincidental as it didn't have anything to do with Hester being able to catch the ball or not. Allen's holding penalty was a good penalty since otherwise it probably would have meant 6 points.

can someone please explain why there was a penalty, when hester fumbled for the second time in the game?(of the punt in the fourth quater) dan dierdorf was saying they had to many men behind the line of scrimmage. then they had to kick again only they lined up exactly the same way but this time there wasn't a penalty called?
so confused!

the first time, the two tackles lined up to far back...trying to get an edge, and got called for not being on the line of scrimage, second time, there were properly closer

yeah there are good penalties like the one that stopped the clock for the seahawks against the rams to allow them time for the winning field goal

yes there is look @ waht happen when there are teams that have a really fast WR n they have... lets say 3rd and nver lol well what that teams does its send the fastest WR on the team as a decoy on a deep post or something like that and what happens they try to get a def pass interference so they can get a 1st down or they run like a streatch play that could get a O-line man hit from behind so they get an illegal hit lol but that can get a player hurt

Yeah, there ARE good penalties.

If you get a pre-snap offensive penalty when you turn it over. That's always a good one. ;)

hmmm, no, it's declined, they take the ball...:goof:

I really didn't have a problem with the Hadnot penalty. If the refs had stopped the roughing of our guy in the pile, I don't think he does it.

remember when Kyle Turley tore the helmet of Robinson ? I have always felt that was the pinacle of a deserved illegal action. In my opinion, Robinson was out of control and trying to hurt the QB by twisting his head with BOTH hands while he was trapped in a scrum.

My only regret is that Robinsons head wasn't in it.

A pre-snap penalty for the offense is not able to be declined. The play never happened.

But there are GOOD Penalties. Specifically, you are about to get torched and if u let them catch it, its a SCORE, pass interference is better than giving up the score.

well i guess this is more of a team fighting type of thing that pumps anybody up,playing with intensity, you play with fire when the other guy pisses you off , and yll fight or **** talking, no wonder steve smith scored 3 td's on us, i just imagine what madison was saying to him.

But your not gonna do a penalty to fire up a team, you have to go to the cause that made the penalty start, so that means that the penalty has no play in pumping up nobody.

I think Wisconsin fans agree there are good penalties (although i think the offsides on the kickoff rule is different in the nfl)
