How can this be written by a journalist...see red below?

The Miami Dolphins' front office appears to be positions the franchise to yet again spend big this offseason.
The official numbers of Suh and Misi's new contracts have no been released, but the Dolphins could have created as much as $18 million in cap space by converting most of Suh's $23.5 million base salary into a signing bonus.

In fairness to Omar (yes this is him) . . . Many journalist rely on smart devices like phones and tablets and utilize spell check and even worse "auto correct" for their reports. Since this was an article (and not a blog) i would imagine he submitted this and the proofreader just didn't do his/her job when they posted it.

Just call him Floyd Wetherton, crack south Florida journalist:

Do you think that, as a journalist, maybe Omar should use spell check? Maybe there's something called grammar check, he could sure use it. Passing this off on the proofreader is funny. That article would have failed a 5th grade grammar assignment.

Bull ****, any writer worth his salt proof reads their work before submitting it. To not is just lazy and unprofessional.

Can tell many of you have never written and submitted "real time" articles before.

He should of done better, but the fact that it was posted as an article on the website is on whoever proofread and uploaded it. You are kidding yourself if you think these errors aren't common place in "real time" journalism.

Just because I defended the grammar errors doesn't mean I am unaware of him being an idiot.

I mean he called Tannehill "Charmin soft" . . . I am not like many who "know" Tannehill is the future, but that maybe the dumbest statement of the year so far.

If there is one thing that Tannehill isn't . . Its soft.

That wasn't directed at you, just showing another of the many examples of why he is one of the worst in the biz.

I have. What he needs more than proofreading is to go back to grammar 101. Even if someone is writing for a deadline, what he cranked out is pathetic. It defies any sort of logic or excuse that a professional writer submitted that- we're not talking about misspelling words, there are no misspells. We're talking about blatant, fundamental misuse of the English language. He should be embarrassed to write that drivel and call himself a journalist. Blaming the proofreader on this grammar disaster is like farting and blaming it on your dog.

Hey man, there's nothing wrong with that. :chuckle:

If you have written "recently" in real time journalism, you would know with all the auto correct and predictive text on these devices can be a straight up nightmare and becomes harder to correct when you are up against a deadline and nothing pops up as wrong when doing a quick overview. Which is why I turn all of that **** off.

I feel like I would of caught these errors, but it is on the proofreader/uploader to ensure it does not get published in that state.
