I am just curious to see what you guys think of this train of thought. Since Cam has said that he wants players that are a little smaller to play G in his scheme. Then compare fact we draft two players that are around 300 lbs each, and Hadnot's weight is 326. he would seem to be a little heavy for what the team is supoosed ly looking for. I think even Liewinski's weight is around 300, or not much above it. Would this leave hadnot as the odd man out next year, and us drafting one more guy to fill a G spot, based on his size?

Could this be reason we haven't inked ot a new deal, or are we just waiting to see if Kendall could come free and use the money we have available to us for that?

Don't get me wrong I would like hadnot to resign with us, I think he is pretty valuable to us, in terms of versatility and demeanor. I consider him to be quite a good player. he can be inconsistent sometimes, but other than the Hall of Famers who really is? Am I just out of right field with this?

I don't think it is. The actually told Rex that they want to see how he does with the switch back to guard before they make an offer for a long term deal. I think once the season ends, he will get an offer. I think and hope he will be back, but you never know.

I'd like him back too, we have an investmetn in this guy. He is just getting his stuff together and if he does well, it will be three seasons he's improved IMO.

Gotta hope, I don't want to have to replace two guys next year. (I think Shelton gets the axe, and if Hadnot leaves we have issues....again.)

He's one of the few Spielman picks still with us. He and Carey, arguably the best two linemen we have are Speilman picks. - I'd like to think Hadnot will get a new deal and Carey will get an extension if he pans out at LT.

Cam had some pretty nice things to say about Hadnot during the mini camps, something about "if things click the sky's the limit." That doesn't sound to me like a guy that's on his way out of the team plans. If things do start to 'click' I suspect Hadnot will get a long term deal during the season.

Id say it all depends on how he plays. I think that is more important than his size especially because he is one of the better people we have on the o-line. Hopefully the line can come together and we can have the same people for a couple of years.

I think he and Shelton are the ones who'll have to prove they can play their positions if they wanna stick around, because I think the braintrust has a day-one draft pick and a top-notch free agent in mind for those spots if not.

Would love to have Hadnot stay. He is a player that is willing to do what it takes to succeed. He has made great strides with us and I would feel robbed if we let him hit the market. Imagine if Kendall gets the ax............... Now say he signed with us..............Now try and tell yourself we have a bad OL.............I couldn't either.

Same could go for Yeremiah Bell. But if they have big years, we may not be able to afford both of them. That's why if they start off hot, I say we get them locked up mid-season.

I think Cam was definitely sending a message to Rex with that one- work hard to be the best you can be, and we'll take care of you. If not, you may have to move on.

Judging from a recent article about how hard Rex has actually been working this offseason, he may have gotten the message.

I agree, what he has said means very little. What he does means alot. he spoke of how he was impressed w/ Brady Quinn.............then takes Ginn. i don't know anymore. I'd like Hadnot to stay, but if he doesn't we might be in serious doo-doo again with the o-line.

If I was Rex and I knew that the HC and Oline coach wanted their guards to weigh a certain amount in order have a certain amount of agility and quick feet and so forth, I would get to work on slimming down to 310 or so. He should talk to the trainers and the nutritionists and get on and stay on a good workout plan and meal plan.

Gotta give up those late night pizzas and junk food. I recently learned that pigging out on a high calorie/high fat meal within about 3 or 4 hours before you go to bed is just about the worst thing you can do if you want to stay lean and lose weight. It also messes up the quality of your sleep. Not good for athletes. Athletes need a good 8 hours of sleep a night for a lot of reasons. Get the girlfriend or wife to sleep in another bed in the house if you have to ... during the season at least. :D

Rex should just get a good protein shake or MRP about an hour before bed if he gets hungry for a late night snack. You actually repair and build most of your muscle when you are asleep. If you are going to have a fairly big meal, about the only good time of the day to do it is first thing in the morning. That is a good idea. That revs up your metabolism for the whole day.

If so I hope we dont just give him away. He should be worth a 4th at least
