Was having a Pro Day some could only dream about in March, running a series of 4.3 40's and doing everything perfectly, until he tore ACL doing the cone drills. If (a big if) Mitchell can recover his excellent speed, he could be a keeper for Miami, which is in major re-building mode. Possesses decent size at a shade over 5'11". Due to his speed, would've been very likely drafted had he not injured his knee. Might be a candidate to be stowed away on PUP List (Physically Unable to Perform), which would forgo the need to use a roster spot on Mitchell in 2005

Is Mitchell right on schedule???
Was keeping him on PUP for a year and PQ for a year worth it??
Is this the year he returns punts and kicks for us?
Can he beat out Goodman and Daniels for the nickel or dime positions?
Is he the fastest Dolphin?
Does he have a chance to someday be a starter in the NFL?

Why would Mitchel beat out Goodman and Daniels for the nickel or dime spots? Who exactly would be the starting cb, opposite Allen, if Goodman is nickel and Daniels dime?

Am I the only one that missed that it says 2005 and not 2007

Didn't he play towards the end of last year? I'm sure I remember he was pretty poor and then we cut him. I would really like to see the guy get a shot at returning punts but I get the impression he's too raw to make it as a corner.

Sorry, I presumed most fans were familiar with Mitchells history.

So ya, we picked him up in 2005 knowing he tore his ACL. We kept him on PUP for a year and last year he was 95% in camp. So we kept him on the practice squad.

He had a so so pre-season. He made a couple horrendous mental mistakes on coverage and made himself quite unpopular with fans. I seriously doubt the coaches were the least bit surprised. He did however play the run very well and most of the time you would of thought it was Will Allen out there on the tackles.

He was brought up from the practice squad for the last two games I think. He was used very sparingly at corner and was not involved in any significant plays, good or bad.

I'm curious about his development. It would be tragic if we wasted a draft pick on a corner and Mitchell turns out to be good.

One comforting thing about our secondary, it is very young.

I'm still pulling for Mitchell. He still has great speed, and last year was the first time he got any playing time after his injury. I don't know if he will beat out Goodman or Daniels, if he doesn't; he will provide good depth for us in a very young secondary.

What if our drafted corner was good too? How would that be a waste? How many teams wouldn't want a bunch of quality corners that are cheap?

No he didnt. He was on the PS all year...he is under contract for this year so they must've signed him under the radar as soon as the season was over...

He played against Indianapolis.

Jackson and Lehan were injured. In fact Eddie Jackson's knee injury is pretty serious and we probably won't bring him back.

It didn't look very good when it happened, and it was sad to see since it was such a routine play.

You beat me to ask the same question. He did have a great pro day, but I do not see him beating Goodman or Daniels.
