I argue that it is. Of course we had no where to go but up, so that part is easy...

Here's why.

We landed the best coaching staffs available.

We landed a seasoned, well-respected GM.

We had an excellent free agency - including trading Surtain for a 2nd rounder.

We had an excellent draft.

We have had very few serious injuries.

Ricky's return holds promise to improve the team and work out as a locker room asset, not a deficit.

We improved our salary cap situation.

We put ourselves in a position to win now and in the future.

Others points of view would be helpful to me - thanks...

This can only be declared our best off-season ever if it helps the franchise out for years to come. Lets reserve this comment until we can see what happens a tad bit more into the future. As of now though....before the season starts etcc ettcc....it has been a very very good one.

I really don't agree to this statement yet because you need to look back in about 5 years and see how well the players we drafted and signed worked out.

This could be 1 of the best offseason ever.

Not when we are picked to go 2-14!

Who cares what we are "picked" to do. We just have to go out there and do what we have to do.

The best offseason ever has to be prior to the 1970 season. Shula took over a team that had never had more that 5 wins in a season. You all know what happened over the next few seasons.

well i can say without a doubt in my mind that since 1989 (when i started watching the phins) this IS the best offseason already.

there is no other type of coach i would rather have than nick saban.

I have to disagree.

In 1983 the Fins drafted Marino - that would be enough to make it the best ever.

However, they also drafted Mark Clayton - my favorite WR of all time and Reggie Roby - the best Fins punter ever.

if we were to win the superbowl within the next 3 years that will blow away the marino draft

Probably not to me.

I have a hard time believing that anyone will come along that will supplant Marino as the greatest Miami player ever and perhaps the greatest QB ever.

But, it wasn't only Marino.

Clayton is the 2nd best WR in Fins history - Second only to Paul Warfield

Roby is the best punter in Fins history

Well, so far it's better than last year at this time... Remember that??? :titanic:
