Jeff Ireland should be getting nervous as draft nears,he knows his job is on the line. If he blows this draft with players that cant help Philbin he should be fired and ross should sell the team because ther wont be many fans left,not sure about any buyers that wuold want to buy a broke down circus?

Get real. Ireland has Ross' backing. The hot seat deal comes from the media creating stories. Our local media doesn't like Ireland b/c he doesn't talk to them so they want him gone. Ireland is not on the hot seat.
Ireland's job is not on the line, at least not this season.

It's not armageddon. We have a below average team, perceived by others as far worse than that. which is in no danger of moving to LA.
The best time to fire a GM is after the draft, before all the scouting begins for the following year. Why fire your GM at the end of the regular season and lose all that scouting and draft preparation? Ireland is not going to be fired next week or this summer, so Ireland is VERY likely to still be in charge come draft time next year. Unless this team is something like 3-13, which we all know is not happening, Ireland is pretty much locked in as GM.
Keep this in mind, when the day does arrive that Ireland does leave, Philbin is going out the door also. A new GM is going to want his own head coach, so get ready to change head coaches again. So if you are hoping for Philbin to be a success, you better hope Ireland sticks around and does well also. Ireland and Philbin are a package deal.
We shall continue on this road to mediocrity then. Unless Ireland can find some game changers in this year's draft or a super acorn after the draft we will continue to win no more than 8 games. He drafts mediocre players and thusly the team is mediocre in it's performance. I know Sparano sucked but he is not the difference between this team making the playoffs.

I will be interested to see who we draft. It will show if they are working together or if Ireland has.final say. I am wondering if Ireland will stray from what the.Tuna taught him.

Most GM's are shown the door the same time coaches are, at the end of the season or close to it. I don't think there has ever been an instance where an owner allowed a lameduck gm do a draft and then let him go. The guy is most likely getting fired because he can't do his job, why let him mess up another draft? I don't think there's any guarantees beyond this upcoming season for Ireland.
