Now that we have added 8 million to he cap and extra picks, are the dolphins postioning themselves for a second move this season? What does everyone think, that is alot of cap money

we can only hope we can bring in chad johnson .

No, I don't believe they are setting up for any more trades. I actually see Miami maybe now using this extra cash for the 08' season on some potential contract extensions. First name that should be considered for a new deal is Vernon Carey.

As for the extra picks, these are to help rebuild the team with young talent.

Like what? The only big thing I can even imagine happening is if we traded for Lito Sheppard. I highly doubt that happens though.

Are most glaring position is WR & OLB. Reports are they think Anderson or Moses can fill the role of OLB, but we have no WR. Chad is available, but the Bengals turned down a 1st earlier this year. I sincerely doubt we bring Chad in. I think we will more then likely keep our pick and use next year on a young player.

I agree with Nublar 100% that money should and needs to go to Vernon Carey.

sign carey to an extension which i'm pretty sure we could have done b4 the trade. this offseason cut some high priced vets like holliday and maybe porter and use that money plus the newfound jt cap room to be major players in free agency.

good times to come

Hennes deal should get done now.

I'm not positive but I don't think the JT trade will make any difference for the rookie contracts. I believe the problem was the limited amount of space the Dolphins were given for their rookie salary pool.

Brett's name will definetely come up in ESPN

this was the one player that kept popping up in my mind, i dont know if getting him is good or not, but we are now in a position to bring in a high salary, not many teams are, i just have a feeling they are not going to waste the cap space, i also think it does not effect the rookies at all, you are alotted money for them arent you

You may be right, I am not a stupid guy, but the whole system is too confusing these days.

i'm pretty sure that the rookie money has already been allocated. i read somewhere where ireland was saying that whoever of the rooks signs last will get the smallest piece of the pie relative to his draft position as the fins have already set aside a set amount for rookie contracts. jake long eats up more than half that amount.

The first thing we'll need to do is bring Chad Henne and Phillip Merling in trainning camp...so get a deal done... then give a little love to Carey

Ya, use some of it to resign Carey and save some of it for the 2009 free agency. The next offseason is going to go a long way in shaping this team for the long haul.
