MNF... SNF... doesn't matter.
As it stands, we don't deserve a prime-time game. Our 2 best players (arguably) are linemen, we have no personalities at coach that are a draw, and we can't manage to fill the seats at our own stadium... This isn't the NFL of the 70's where toughness and the hogmollies ruled. This is 2012 where hitting's not allowed and it's not worth watching unless both QB's throw for 300+ yards. Nobody want's to see 8-10 punts per team in a game where neither team can move the ball. Atleast that's what the media and broadcasters think.
Plus, look at who we play in 13 of our games: Houston, Oakland, NYJ, Arizona, Cincinnati, St. Louis, NYJ, Indy, Tennessee, Buffalo, Seattle, Jacksonville, Buffalo. Other than New York I see no teams that sound like a primetime matchup with Miami, but the Jets already have 2 other Monday Nighters.
In weeks 13, 14, and 17 we play New England, San Fran, and New England. Those are games with broader appeal, but are we even going to be relevant at that point or looking for another top 10 draft pick? I think if any of those 3 games were earlier in the season we'd have a prime-time game... as it stands, we don't deserve one. If we win and become relevant by the end of the season we'll easily be flexed in one of these three games.
I hope I'm wrong but I think we're another draft or two away before we're back in prime time.
