Ok we have a big show down coming up Monday night vs. the Jests. They acquired Edwards for penance....is he elite some say yes some say no i think he is better then what they have now but not by any means a super scray guy to worry about IMO much like TO big physical guy but has drop problems and other baggage. It does make their WR core better than ours...but that isnt an accomplishment ours isnt very good in the first place.

So we had an off season to create a new wildcat package. So far this year we have run it to great success even though it has had a year of film study from opposing defenses it is still hard to defend and we have had little need to throw out of it our running is getting huge chucks of yardage.

But is this the week that we bust out any new plays?

Thigpen and White both have experience in spread formations so either would work. I KNOW we have come up with additions to the WC formation that are passing plays but again we have had no need to use them minus the one play in ATL.

so what do you think will we see and new wrinkles in the WC or just will we play the standard WC and our standard (for 2009) smash mouth stop us if you can kind of football?

maybe even share a play you have created as something you would like to see us do out of the WC formation

GO FINS!!

Braylon is a free agent at the end of the season. They didnt even extend his contract yet. He could walk at the end of the year if he wants.

Edwards likely won't even play for the Jets this week.

If we're going to throw a quarterback back into the Wildcat it's going to be Thigpen, mainly because he's taken snaps at quarterback before in the NFL and can make the throws if needed. White is probably more athletic than Thigpen, but Thigpen is no slouch either

I don't think there are any new wrinkles really. If anything, the new wrinkles were thwarted by Pat White's slow development.

Is this why Thigpen rather than a vet was brought in...he does have NFL experience but is still 3rd on the depth chart so if he plays white and henne cant...so it may be smashmouth this monday

I think we still may see some trickery, but nothing out of the ordinary in our offense. I really hope Henne is up to the challenge this week as Im sure they are going to try to force us to pass. I doubt there are many WC plays this week, the last time the Jets did a good job of shutting it down. Just good play-calling and running hard should do us good.

I doubt it. Just another young arm to push Pat White and Chad Henne to keep on their game. Drafting in 2's and 3's to make sure neither player thinks they have a secured spot.

I hate hearing there are new plays.. Any play can work if you have talented players executing it and good play calling. That is why we run the wild cat cause we have three talented RB's.

For sure, i expect to see 2-3 tricks designed for touchdown scoring. Hopefully some Pat white throws, and I think we will see Ronnie throw one this week.

it will be nice to see Ronnie throw i think he did a good job last year when he did. And nobody will expect him to throw so someone has to be open.

Thigpen has passed for touchdowns, ran for touchdowns and has caught a touchdown as a WR in the NFL.

Check out his YouYube videos and you will see that the is a running QB but he is 6'1" and 225 pounds. He will take over the WR position in the Wildcat and could run it from the "QB" spot (where Ronnie plays).

Pat White cannot do this and will never be able to.

I give thigpen 4 weeks before I think he will see the field in some formation

I think they have tons of plays that they can call- hence Sparano saying last year that they had "only scratched the surface" with the calls that had been played.
I think if they stop our rush, and only if they do that consistently in the first half, we will see some new wrinkles. I know they have more up their sleeves. Hell Ronnie never hands it to Ricky, if he DID that would almost constitute a new wrinkle hahaha
