From what you guys have seen so far in camps and preseason, especially the carolina game, does Smith become a top 10 DB in tbe league this year?

That's a tall order for Sean....but I liked what I saw last night. That call was bullcheddar

The quick answer is NO! I have never seen a NFL player shy away from contact as much as he does( except maybe Deion Sanders ). His height is a hinderance when he asked to get in and out of the breaks to stay with the WR. I have never been high on Smith like alot of people on this board. I think what you see is what you get and he will never get any better. The question is not wether Vontae Davis gets his condtion up enough to be able to play, but rather did Smith ever have the ability to start in the league?

Right now this guy looks like another Gibril Wilson. These guys can't cover and when the ball hits them in the hands they drop it. :rolleyes2:

No. He has never shown flashes of being great like Davis. He plays scared and routinely gets abused. He needs to be upgraded next offseason

I think both Davis and Smith got ****y playing against our crap wide receivers in practice
but in reality they both are disappointments when playing against other decent wide receivers
Whats even more scary is our safety play and inability to cover tight ends..= a long season

Somebody please give me an explanation, at least one sentence, one word even, as to why Sean Smith is good.
I haven't seen this guy make a single good play in a regular season game, let alone, where it counted. I think he had one INT in a game we pretty much already lost.

This guy gets burnt ALL THE TIME and is consistently sloppy. I'd be willing to let him have one more year to prove himself, but IMO trade him away while teams will still put up something decent for him.

He is a decent #2 Cb. Needs to work on his footwork, tackling. Can he get better.. time will tell

I thought his coverage on Smith when he had the interception taken away was good. The call seemed a little nit-picky to me.
