It seems to me that other teams, and even the media feel like the "Wilcat" formation is cheap, and not real football. Why is that? I think any play or formation is real football, they just mad cause they can't really stop it, because there are so many things that can be done from the formation. here is a quote from one of the Jet's defensive player whining about us using the wilcat. I say stop :boohoo:and man up. Do you guys feel like it's cheap and too much trickery using the wilcat? I say its football baby. Let's keep using it until they other team can stop it. GO PHINS:beer1:

After the Jets gave up big yards on a flea flicker and several Wildcat plays, LB Calvin Pace said, “When you can’t line up and beat somebody one-on-one … whatever. I guess you can give them credit. Whatever. I guess when you go from worst to first, you have to do stuff like that.”

Crybaby!

No, its a formation that must be accounted for and defended. Just like the spread or the I. Taping other teams' practices is "cheap"

LMAO at Pace's comments.

Calvin Pace is just mad because he chose the wrong team to sign with last March.

Exactly...Pace and the entire Jets team could not stop the formation, so what they do? They ****** about it. Learn to play good defense and you can stop anything that comes at you. Man up Pace!! Don't be a such a *****!

what i found funny was when the jets tried running it against us for like a 3 yard loss.

the thing is, using "conventional formations", the defense pretty much knows if it's a run or a pass, depending on the down and distance, but with the wilcat, it could be a run up the middle, a sweep around the end, a pass by brown, a pass by ricky, a pass by chad. that is the beauty of it. it gives the defense a lot to think about. I love it. and i bet you next season other teams will start to use it too.

its freaking football. just because its not traditional doesnt make it cheap. the flea flicker has been around forever and some call it cheap but its used every sunday.

Next year?
LOL, I was laughing my arse off watching multiple games the last few weeks, and seeing so many different teams trying a similar set up as the wildcat, I know this week alone their were at least 3 times i personally know tried some variant of it, I know for a fact Atlanta did, I think the raiders did as well dont remember,.

I love it, we will be given credit for starting a new trend, dammit we should rename it to something like the wildfin or soemthing to keep all name recognition.

But ya agreed, we will see alot of it next year, I bet teams will be drafting one or two players specifically for this type of offense, like a 3rd down back with speed who can also throw.

I call it WILDFIN. But Wildphin is nice too LOL!! Anyway, they think it is cheap because..they are jealous that their team does not have the innovative coaching or personnel to pull it off that is why!! Henning / Sparano saw the opportunity with RB and RR in the backfield. Add Cobbs and then potentially Ginn and all sorts of potential variations and you got what we got.

Other teams don't try it because of lack of the right personnel or not being comfortable enough with it in the first place. Its a mental thing too. Ronnie thinks the formation helps him immensely to take advantage of his initial quick burst and he feels more comfortable for the ball to get to him without the qb (and certainly no offense to Penny) having to hand it off. It was the ideal formation for the right team to change things up and keep the competition on its heels. Other teams can make their excuses but when we get 4-5 yards at least if not more on most plays and they get negative yardage who is laughing last?

Calling the formation cheap? What is this Madden?

shut up and learn to play some D.

AHHHHHH, poor Calvin Pace chose the wrong team to sign with. The Jets tried the Wildcat too and guess what, we lined up and beat it. The Jets are now going to be in disarray so his choice to sign with them will be ven worse. I hope Pace and his agent are happy.
