I'm watching this game and Gallery is just not playing all that well...and for the second year in a row he is not the left tackle but rather the right tackle.

This begs the question, did Miami get it RIGHT? Trade a 4th round pick to make sure we get the best offensive tackle in the draft class? Seriously Shawn Andrews is still playing right guard and sat out most of the year last year (injuries were an issue with him pre-draft), and in Gallery's second year he is not showing the same quantum leap in play that Carey is showing right now.

Carey could very comfortably play left tackle right now and is probably better there than at right tackle...but even though he's better at left I think he might be better at right tackle right now than Robert Gallery currently is.

This is weird. Something stupid that Spielman did actually turned out to work out for us...unlike the Feeley and Gordon trades.

Id wait until Sunday to see how good Vernon does. But to answer your question, no way in hell is Vernon better

Sims I believe is Oaklands LT, but I think Gallery will be an elite LT in the league very shortly. I think Carey has played well but he was not worth a 4th and a 1st IMO, the guy who I believe the Phins should've taken with the pick they used for Carey is the starting Qb for the Buffalo Bills.

I think you have a valid question that will take this year to answer.

I wonder how many of you that are answering this question have actually seen Gallery play as a raider, and seen Carey play as our left tackle this preseason against pretty good pass rushers Reggie Hayward and Alex Brown...then Greg Spires in the Tampa game.

yeah all of oaklands line is playing like crap today. Pitiful showing, play calling is wierd, run on 3 and 13 makes no sense at all. And I would much rather have vernon right now than losman.

I just saw Willie McGinnest totally BYTCH slap Gallery in the chest and just knock him flat on his butt, and Gallery had to hold Willie to keep him away from the QB.

I have not seen that or anything like it happen to Carey in any single play that he's played this preseason.

I will admit, I have not seen enough tape to make a conclusive statement, but when all is said and done, I believe we got THE best tackle in the draft in Carey. Bar none. I guess ya'll can roast me for that if you want. Let the years prove my wisdom on it.

I have a good friend that is a Raiders fan and he has been greatly disappointed in Gallery.

All I know is Gallery got pancaked by a LB of all things.

I am not impressed with him. Wasn't he supposed to be a LT not a RT?

Yes he was I can guess that maybe IAFINFAN can give a better explaination but I saw him for 4 years at Iowa(im purdue fan) and I thought he would be dominant for years at LT and he hasn't been able to even get control of the job.

Ogden started out as a guard for the Ravens eventually moving to the LT spot..the same will happen with gallery

I think Carey is playing better than Gallery.

I was surprised he was moved from LT, because he was doing an excellent job there. I actually thought we finally had our long-term solution at LT. But, Houck must have something in mind... who knows, he still may get moved back to LT at some point in his career, and I think he would do fine.

Gallery will eventually be the LT. Barry Sims has flat out outpplayed him though so they can't move him. Gallery has not looked well at all though but I think this might be due to Belichick schemeing again. New England has played a lot fo straight up football and fewer blitzes and stunts than they usually do, at least from what I am seeing. Gallery may be anticipating a rush that just isn't there breaking his concentration.

I think it is way too early to judge either, especially since Carey hasn't played yet, but hopefully what you said turns out to be true.
