Is Vernon Carey Dogging It Out There?

I know Vernon Carey is coming off minor knee surgery, but his play has been nothing short of pathetic. I'm starting to wonder if he is really making any effort out there. Could he be bitter about having to take a drastic pay cut and being moved to RG? If what I am saying is true (and it may be hard to prove) they can't have this type of unprofessionalism in the locker room. If his play does not pick up in practice this week he should be cut before they play another game. The Dolphins NEED to get Shaun O'Hara, Andre Gurode or Leonard Davis in here...TODAY!!!

Carey is definitely uncomfortable in his new position and hope that Miami will find a way to get him moved back out to it. His knee does look to be a bit of an issue for him but hopefully it'll respond and come around in time. I don't think he's intentionally dogging it out there but he's definitely not pushing it too hard either, the thing we all need to remember is this is still preseason and these game are basically meaningless and are just a glorified pratice.
 
well. lets look at some facts. took a paycut. its preseason, doesnt mean anything except to people who are looking for perfection in f in preseason.

yeah he's doggin it! They dont want to get hurt. they just got back in swing three weeks ago. f in players union.

If you actually went to training camp in Davie FL like I have, you would see Long doing conditioning and talking with the guys between plays during the scrimmages. He is right in the thick of it, even though he hasn't started playing yet this season. I have no concerns about Long. As soon as he enters the line up, we are a better team.
 
Yea he is not looking good. I would rather have jerry in there.
 
Damn.. all this emphasis on and tinkering with the OL, and all we have to show for it is Jake and potentially Pouncy? Something smells rotten in Denmark IMO.

Coming out of the U together, Carey was the OLine Yang to Wilfork's DLine's Ying and actually went 3 slots ahead of Big Vince. Sheesh...What a difference a few years make :idk:
 
I'd rather think carey is dogging it. maybe he's not playing hard at all due to the paycut and figures, why hurt myself in preseason? if he isn't, one more fat slob to cut.
 
Out of shape and not using good technique and not playing with power, which is why he is spending more time in the Dolphin backfield than the opposing defensive line.
 
He isn't intentionally dogging it. Just seems out of shape, playing a different position, and probably just not the same since his kneee stuff. He has never been anything but a team guy, good for the community, and always did whatever the coaching staff asked without being a diva about it. Pretty standup guy really. Give him some cred there.
