if so why the hell is cam wake dropping back 18 times in one game?!! we have no pass rush besides him. top 10 d to bottom of the league, are you serious?!!!!
go ahead and pack your bags too nolan bc you are stinking up the place just as bad
we need a whole new staff, nobody is worth keeping
 
yeap this has been a total disaster in all aspects of the game we need a new revamping of this team!
 
You have to wonder if Tony told him to change his scheme up a bit. McDaniels did the same thing in Denver, telling him to blitz less, which ultimately led to Nolan coming here.
 
That is what happens when your LB's can't cover TE's. It is pick you poison. Rush the passer and have the TE's kill you, or drop back and hope someone else can make a play. Basically it's like would you rather me punch you in the nose or kick you in the ballz, both suck!
 
I agree, our defense should be better. Its hard not to think something fishy is going on here.

Agree, they play like they cant wait until the game is over. I guess I would expect more being we are playing with all the same guys except for clemons and crowder. Both of these guys are below average to average players anyway.

It just doesn't make sense to me.
 
That reeks of Sparano weaving his magic and overriding his DC in a more conservative manner. Last year we sent the house on several occasions, this year with our safety play we have to play a softer shell to avoid the BIG PLAY at the expense of our pass rush. Since when do you have Wake covering Santonio Holmes? **** it, I say bust Sanchez's @$$ a couple of times and he'll serve up some ducks for dinner.
 
The main disappointment for me with this team has been the lack of production from our D-line. They have taken a huge step backwards from years past and have just magnified the deficiencies of the remaining 2 levels of defense. The D-line looks out of shape and uninspired to me. They are coming out of their stances and standing up too quickly which is a sign of poor conditioning. They are not plugging the holes they need to on running plays, making it easy to block the LB's. They get absolutely no pass rush at all, again forcing us to blitz which also never seems to get pressure, thereby exposing our mediocre pass coverage. Our D-line has absolutely sucked it big time this year, who has had a decent year other than Starks and an occassional play by Odrick?

Meaning you can only do what you can do with the talent you have. I am sorry but we do not have any great talent on this team. The blame does not fall on Nolan. It falls on the crappy talent and the crappy effort and play by the talent we have. Ireland is the failure to me.

Completely wrong!
Our D is pretty much the same personnel as last year, a year that they were an elite D. How are they now crappy talent now?

We have a ton of talent.....except for the talent that is in charge.

its the same d except fs and burnett. and last year was #6, so its not all on the players. the scheme just sucks balls

Just giving him a pass because we dont have great talent is pretty ridiculous. Wake, Dansby, Soliai, Langford, Odrick, Starks, Burnett, Davis and Sean Smith are enough talent where we could field a good defense, much less a defense with a clue, which we our D doesnt have one. Nolan has completely went left with his schemes this year, their completely different from last year. A lot more vanilla, a lot more 4-3 sets and looks. I am disappointed in Nolan as I thought he would do well with this defense. He has not.
 
I think the biggest difference in the defense is Cam Wake. The dude beat his guy almost every play last season. This season he rarely gets by his man. He is much slower off the ball this season than last and I wonder if he was coached to slow down his rush. I am thinking he may have been coached to slow down and stay under control so he could play against the run. If that is true then the coaches made a huge mistake. I would much rather have him get beat on a few traps and things then never get any pressure on the QB. This guy went from probably the best pass rusher I have ever seen to an afterthought. That doesn't happen unless he is playing injured or has been told to change his game.
