This Sundays game! Then next Sunday's game then the final game. Because no matter how you slice it. No matter what ouija board you play with, we dont win we dont even sniff the door. No matter what mike and mike think or any other talking sports head. The dolphins hold their fate in their hands.

IMO: I dont think N.E. will win out. I dont think Denver will win out. I dont think the Jags win out. I still contend the division is there for the taking still. I want to win the Division!

Discuss/Bash.

that's 3 games...

We can afford to lose either the Tennessee OR the Houston game, as long as Baltimore loses to Pittsburgh and Jacksonville loses the games their expected to lose and we'll still make it as a wildcard. That, according to the Yahoo playoff simulator.

The Great Don Shula used to say the season is always only one game long. No its not three because if we lose next week its over. If we win next week then it is one more game. If we lose that week then its over. Understand the metaphor?
i guess, but it's not really over, mathematically.

Not to be a stickler but thats not a metaphor. A metaphor would be if you said something like the rest of our season is like peeling potatoes you do them one at a time or the last 3 games are like a tennis match we have to take it one set at a time.

What you did was called putting a situation in perspective not in a metaphor.

I hate being a stickler as well, but that's not a metaphor either.

What you did is called a similie not a metaphor.

Similies use the words as or like to compare two unlike things that have one distinct characteristic. Metaphors do the same thing, without using as or like.

"When Dan Marino would throw the ball, it came off his hand like a speeding bullet" would be a similie.

"Dan Marino had one of the strongest arms ever. His speeding bullets to Clayton and Duper were legendary" would be a metaphor.

:snack:
My sensitivity trainer said we shouldn't be petty about grammar and to let people be who they are. I promised to start tomorrow.

Excuse me Professor. I wasn't aware that finheaven had appointed Metaphor Czar to the board.
