First off i love this team and what they did last year, but that was then this is now. just ask yourself this 1 question: Can pennington lead this team to the superbowl? can we beat pitts, NE, indy, tenn, balt? i say probably not. Although i love pennington and what he did for us last year i do think it is time for a change, not because penny fumbled yesterday or because we lost but becasue he holds our offense down. You see teams dont respect our deep passing game and that affects the running game and the o-line, the safeties play a little bit closer and have less to worry about. I truly think if we start henne it will open the running game up and ease pressure on our o-line, although i think henne will struggle and throw some int's he could have scored more than 7 points vs. atlanta. I honestly think we will start henne week 4 after the SD game. thank you pennington for what you did last year it was fun.

Not because of Pennington (See Dilfer) but because this team lacks the playmakers and character to be superbowl caliber.

well dilfer could throw over 25yds, how do we know if we have any game breakers if they are catching hitches and 10 yd crossing routes? im not saying ginn bess and cam are stars but how do you know there not?

:tumbleweed:well here it goes, i dont think our qb is on the roster yet. i dont have faith in any of them. i dont know who it is. so we can end all the qb talk and see if MANNING, BREES, or BRADY, will come play a game for us and see if we do any better. imo we should put henne in the fire right now so if he is not the one , we can get another one in the draft. lets try to do it right this time!

I agree 95% I don't know whether or not Henne is our QB of the future. I'm not quite doubting him yet, but I'm anxious to know. I agree with your plan of action.

Henne wouldn't have done any better with the piss poor blocking OL and the lead foot receiving corps we had yesterday.

Ask yourself this question: Did you expect to be superbowl bound this year anyway?

Technically we're still in rebuilding mode. We need another draft for the offense to be relevant. That doesn't mean we can't try and make the playoffs a few times while we're doing it.

The question should be can this team get to the super bowl and I'm sorry to admit there are to many problem areas to just put all the pressure on one QB.THIS IS NOT A GOOD TEAM AND I DON'T CARE WHAT THE PRE SEASON RECORD WAS. This is an eye opener and we have a long way to go...maybe a few more years if and only if we hit on our draft picks.

He got them in FG range in the 1st Q....how long did it take pennington?

It's amazing how shaky the bandwagon can get after a loss. Especially a first game loss because we as fans just don't know what to expect from this team. If we had increased our win total last year by 6-9 instead of tying an NFL record 10 win turnaround maybe people would be a little more understanding. As bad as Sundays lost seems or feels it's still not anywhere close to what we went through in 2007. During that year not only did we lose 15 games but the team itself quit on us. Although I fully agree with a lot of the posts that are being made I cannot agree with the severity of a lot of peoples reactions. Pennington still gives us the best chance to win this year though I do admit by the end of the third quarter I was literally screaming for them to put in Henne. Does that make me a Hypocrite? Probably.

Have you seen his protection? Much better.. see them RUNNING THE BALL..

Maroney was responsible for most of that drive because Brady's passes were off.

My point is.. pennington took us into FG range when fasano fropped the ball. Carey negated a TD pass to Fasano.. people forget that there is 10 points min off the board.

You act like Pennington did absolustely NOTHING.. that isn't the case.

No he had a bad game. So did Long and the entire Oline, Fasano.. and our secondary. Don't get me started on the special teams. The entire team was flat.

I expect a more spirited game next week.

Pennington did not have a good game, but he was responsible for only one of four turnovers. The fumble is completely on the sorry job Carey did on the pass protection. Fasano really hurt the team in this game, and the offensive line was not good enough. It is possible that you are correct, but this is the first game. Let's hold the Pennington criticism for another game or two.
