THE OG CANEPHINS
formally known as CANEPHINS
We see this week in and week out with teams vs us....
Last week Odrick was a captain vs us. Anytime we play a team with a former player they are made captain and seem to have that extra fire to destroy us. Granted...when you play with no fire it is easy to be destroyed.
So when was the last time we employed this tactic? You know Brandon Marshall will be a captain next week and Bowles has an axe to grind as well.
Hell, last year at Jax Henne was named captain for the game and he was a reserve qb. Granted, we won that game but if Henne had started we probably would have lost.
The fact is we don't have players with that axe to grind. We don't have players that love the extra motivational push. Most of all, we don't have the guy leading them who would be willing to pull stunts like this to further fire up a team. Live Rex, or hate him, it is things like this why his players love him. It is things like this why his players would run into a burning house for him to save his favorite homemade sex tape. It is the lack of things like this why Philbin isn't getting the most out of his players and why they won't do the same for him.
For a details guy he seems to not get the tiny details.
His captains on Sunday were ex-Dolphins Richie Incognito, Charles Clay, Dan Carpenter and Marcus Thigpen and former Hurricane Seantrel Henderson. Each player came in with their own motivation regarding the Dolphins and Ryan made sure to play up that idea.
Clay? Five catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Carpenter? He had a 51-yard field goal.
Incognito and Henderson? They were part of the offensive line that kept Taylor from getting sacked and opened some good running lanes.
Also, former Dolphin Chris “7-11” Hogan caught a TD pass early in the fourth quarter to ice the game at 34-8.
