Today, as we're coming off of a 6-10 season and we're 0-1 and we have the Patriots looming on the road this weekend, I would like to try to cheer up all of my fellow fans with this wonderful tidbit I saw today:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/09/13/jeff-fisher-climbs-the-career-coaching-losses-list/

When the Rams lost to the 49ers last night, Jeff Fisher took a dubious place in NFL history. Fisher is now all alone in third place in NFL history for most coaching losses, with 157.

He was hired at the same time as Philbin, and right now the Rams are not only worse than the Dolphins, but just traded away what looks like it could be the #1 overall pick in 2017. And he's not even on the hot seat.

So as we look at our team and how rough it is to continue rooting for this franchise, just remember: it could have been worse. It could have been much worse.

Take a bow, Vaark, because you called this one. Jeff Fisher is not just the King of Mediocre coaches, he is now a franchise destroyer.

And i hear Fisher isn't worried about being fired. He is guaranteed his job next year that's why he is treating Goff with kid gloves.

Strange how Fisher gets the credit as a great coach and our own Fox Hayden sore by him.

As I saw the game yesterday and the Hard Knocks this summer....I am glad that he is not here at Miami. I was for getting Jeff Fisher here...but realize I was wrong.

I wasn't exactly a member of the Fisher bandwagon, but based on the coaches that were available that year, I would have been pretty OK with him. I thought he was at least a decent coach. I was also wrong.

Looking at it now, giving him control of personnel would have been even more disastrous than retaining Jeff Ireland for another two years.

I was so scared when they were thinking of hiring this guy (Not that Philbin was any better, didn't want him either) but this guy was and always will be an overrated coach. So glad he didn't want the job here.

It wont be long before that defense quits on him...they are already undisciplined

Case keenum is horrid...so is the skill position players on offense minus todd gurley

Jared goff would have to walk on water to make that offense work

But the Rams swept the Seahawks last year, even scored 34 against them in Week 1 last year. That's worth at least two "moral victories". I wonder where Fisher ranks all time in "moral victories". What other possible explanation is there for his continued employment?

What's this trade?

Tennessee traded its first-, fourth-, and sixth-round selections (1st, 113th, and 177th) to Los Angeles in exchange for Los Angeles's first-round, two second-round, and third-round selections in this year's draft (15th, 43rd, 45th, and 76th) as well as Los Angeles's first- and third-round selections in the 2017 NFL Draft.

How to ruin a franchise.

He needs only 8 more losses to be the all time leader. After watching last nights game my prediction is week 10 he sets it.

I honestly don't think it would've mattered. Fisher looked like a better option to me at the time as well. If we would have hired him and he stunk up the joint (Like Philbin) he would have been jettisoned just as quickly. We'd be right where we are with a new coach.

I used to be an apologist for Fisher, thinking he was an adequate HC, but no he represents something that shouldn't be in this league. Just an archaic, stubborn useless lump standing on the sidelines watching the league pass him right by. I hate him for inflicting Case Keenum on my eyeballs last night.

Exactly. He's so tied into the owners that he will always have a job unfortunately. Wanted no part of this guy.
