I still remember watching this game. Seeing how easily Manning drove down the field with every single possession. Urgh!!

I remember that one as well. Heartbreaker in prime time. What is striking is the immense respect you have to have for an opposing offense to have ”keep away” be your gameplan. And we got that respect solely from the scoring output in 4Q of the Ravens game.

Honestly there’s a good chance the Bills might have fared better if they weren’t trying to play keep away.

I'm not sure they would have done better without the keep away tactic; it was entirely designed to protect their secondary.
Additionally, i don't think they would have won a shoot out based on how they melted despite controlling the tempo of the game.
