With the NFL so worried about player safety, they seemed afraid to schedule any 1:00 home games early in the season over the last few years. We played on the road the first week and usually 3 of the first 5 were on the road with the only home games in prime time or 4pm. But not this year, did anyone notice that we only play on the road twice in the next 8 weeks??

I know there are those who think the weather has no effect on the games but I disagree. I think the humidity is so brutal early in the year, combined with players not used to playing the whole game that playing 1:00 home games early in the season is a nice advantage. Just like playing up north late in the season is a disadvantage.

Maybe this year we can start establishing a home field advantage and pull off an upset or two. Every little break counts. Hopefully it will be sunny and triple digits on the field at kickoff. If we could get a running game going that would really help.

Of course it's an advantage...all the old school fans know that.

The other side of that coin is heading north in the winter for game 2.......

I want all the home 1 pm games we can get early. If we have to go up North late and play in that environment, lets get those teams at home when its sweltering hot.

I totally agree

Years ago it was an advantage. Nowadays, not so much. Can't recall the opponent but several years ago we had a 1 pm early Sep game and it was the Dolphins who were gassed in the 4th qtr. Blame it on the Nick Saban practice dome or the rules changes calling for easier practices but the sad truth is that the Florida heat is no longer the advantage it once was.

Once the canopy is put over the seats, the fans won't nearly be in the sun as often as they have been. The players have to play in the sun like always. Ross wanting to move the 1 p.m. games to later was for the fans wasn't it? Now he won't have that problem (or after next year at least).

I hate waiting til sundays to watch the game! I hate waiting an extra 3 hours when it's not on at 1pm lol

Ive always felt that the weather plays no advantage to us whatsoever for us during September home games, and now I know it is no advantage. Not really sure why people try to argue this every year. Over the past decade, since 2003, we are 7-13 (.287) at home in the month of September.

It was an advantage during the old school years when we fielded good teams. Now its not an advantage at all.

The. Old orange bowl gave the team advantages that pro player, joe robbie, insert next name of stadium here! Doesn't have or haven't had. The Orange bowl had loud fan bases it was played in open weather with alot of heat! The stadium we have now is nothing close to having the home field advantage! And now there is going to. Be.more cover from the weather! Why it makes no sense if you play down in a place such as Miami! Yeah you may get rained on occasionally but the heat combined with fan noise is what made the Orange bowl great for so many Dolphin teams!

Not sure where you're going with that??? 7 for 13 is nearly 54% How do you get (.287) ? Just asking?

Past decade we've been mediocre at best, think that had a lot to do with our poor September record more than weather...I'd rather not rattle off the Coaches and qbs that have started since 2003
