coordinators is going to struggle some in the first year. Yes, I know Mularky is using Linehan's offense, but he is still a new guy. Same for Caper. Just a given that there will be adjustment pains.

Too many excuses for this team, and too many people giving Saban a free pass. He is barely above .500 (10-9) and has not corrected any of the problems that were present when he got here - OL, QB, Secondary.

He brought in a offensive coordinator who sucked in his last gig in Buffalo, and uses a defense that is so complex that experienced veterans keep blowing the calls and have to slow down to think rather than just react.

I do like Saban, but he has been allowed to skate and he needs to start being held accountable for this team's performance.

And yes - I am saying that our draft this year has sucked so far. When one of the biggest areas of need on your team is Safety and you draft one at #16 - he damn well better be starting or you picked the wrong guy. Ours doesn't even get in the game.

OL is another area of prime need and we keep bringing in rejects or projects. Enough of that!!! Time to get a top notch interior lineman to anchor the thing and get the line calls right.

QB - Sorry - I wanted Brees, so my opinion is biased. I don't believe Saban as I think he wanted Brees also, but deferred to the doctors (who apparently had it all wrong). I will support C-Pep, but he was successful because he was a threat to run and defenses had to respect that. Now - he is Michael Vick without the mobility - easy pickens (pun intended).

Totally agree.

So what? We're all supposed to just sit tight then and wait yet another year for all of the supposed talent on this team to gell? We have to give Culpepper, and Mularky, and the secondary another year while Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor get another year older? We're supposed to cut everyone a break while the team misses the playoffs for the fifth year in a row, something that's never happened in the history of the franchise?

Maybe if we're really lucky the team can get it's act together just in time for us to finish up the season strong at 9-7, miss the playoffs and get another mediocre draft pick.

Nobody's going to give up being a Dolphins' fan if they miss the playoffs again this year. I certainly won't. But don't expect the fans to sit here and pretend things are great, dreaming of Super Bowl years to come, while the current team pisses away yet another football season.

Good post.

QB---it doesn't matter who wanted who. Saban got Culpepper and that gamble has failed miserably. It'll help us in the draft pick position, but since it put the offense ANOTHER year back, we'll now have to rebuild the defense too. My advice to Fins fans waiting for a Super Bowl is to grab a snickers. You'll be here a while. The only good news about this team is the money the players saved on their car insurance by switching to Geico.

OL is crap. And yet people say, "its only been three games". Do these guys expect Jeno James and LJ Shelton to start playing like pro bowlers in week 9-10?

On the draft pick, I wanna wait awhile before judging the draft. Many rookies take a full season to get acclimated to the NFL then play outstanding football. The problem is the defense is so mucked up, it might only further confuse the rookie to be playing next to such crap...

You are absolutely right on the coordinators. People talk about MM's success in Pittsburgh. Yet, the get a new coordinator and in a couple of years go to the SB. Hmmmmm.....

How good was Houston's defense with Crapers as their HC? Maybe it was in the top half of the league, but since last seasons coaching changes, our defense is worse and Auburn's is damn good.

And you (and any others here who share this view) are doing a great job of holding NS accountable. At the end of the day, he is responsible for everything wrong with this team. Every pre-snap penalty, every missed block and tackle, every dropped pass, every inept thing that Culpepper does is 100% Saban's fault. And I like Saban alot. But if he can't this team to stop doing the same ol' shiite that Wannstedt's team's were doing, then he can go coach in the Big East with Dave.

And that my friends....is the bottom line.
