The last two weeks have felt really good. But I am still hesitant in my exacerbation. In the back of my mind, I am still waiting for an implosion and for all the recent success to be just a mirage that quenches the thirst we all have for the success that has left us so parched. God, I hope we can sustain the momentum. God, I hope Albert can stay healthy because he really is the key to the offense going forward. But there is hope. We purged some of the dead weight from this team i.e. Dallas Thomas and hopefully more will come from the FO i.e. Mike Tannenbaum. So here is to looking to the future instead of complaining about the past, even if it is with a skeptical eye.

It is starting to feel good to be a Dolphins fan and the main reason IMO is Adam Gase. We finally have a coach that gets it. Someone the players respect, knows his stuff, holds players accountable and wont settle for mediocrity. I don't want to jump the gun 7 games into the season but I'm starting to believe in the guy.

I think the next draft has to be defense heavy. I didn't like what I was seeing from Vance Joseph at first but I think he has this defense motivated and over achieving.

If we're run/play action oriented I think Tannehill will suffice. Bringing in someone to push him at the very least is a must. If we decide to go in a new direction at QB, I trust Adam Gase to make the right call.

Some solid pieces to build around: Suh, Reshad Jones, Landry, Ajayi, Parker, Pouncey, Xavien Howard, Lippett, Tunsil, I'm on the fence with Tannehill - think we can do better but he's serviceable... feeling good about our direction

It has felt good. The last 2 weeks were very good wins and it feels good to have the media taking notice. Obviously Ajayi's 200 yard games is a big piece of that but still, I've noticed some media also taking notice about other parts of the team like coaching, OL, defense... again, it feels good to play some quality football and we get to ride that for an extra week with very winnable games following.

Hate to sound gloom and doom 'cause I AM optimistic. But that's tempered optimism. Fans have seen this show too many times - two good games then lose a game they should have won. Sorry, I can't shake that history. With that as background, I know longer watch pre-game with a sense of pessimism and THAT feels good.

I know how you feel. In a way, Miami should have won easily on Sunday. But, this team didn't quit and showed a lot of fight. That bodes well moving forward.

Last year it seemed like Jarvis Landry was the only player who consistently gave second effort. Jay Ajayi has looked like the second coming of Ricky Williams fighting for yards and carrying the team on his back. I love a physical running game and, honestly, didn't think the Dolphins had the pieces for that.

Still not thinking playoffs, but the schedule appears more manageable in the last part of the season. It is indeed getting interesting.

I've enjoyed the past 2 weeks, but I need more than 2 weeks to wash away he taste of a decade plus of mediocrity from my mouth... let's see if they can keep it up.

I have liked Gase's direction. He is a vast improvement over Failbin.

However I feel that if a starting OL goes down, the offense will struggle once again. Depth is razor thin

So true. It's all about coaching in the NFL. The great ones can win year in and year out with different talent. Obviously, not putting Gase there yet but the last two games have been so positive you've got to believe he is, at the least, the right choice.

This team played with fire, passion, heart -- whatever you want to call it. I think Gase calling out players like Ajayi and James helped light a fire a bit. Heck after game one, when he was left home, I didn't know if Ajayi would be in the plans that much this season. He has played absolutely great looking like one of the best backs in the NFL.

Certainly worried about the defense without Jones, but at least this team now has a chance. No talking about the first overall pick anymore.

I've always felt good about it. Just very frustrating.....lol

Ozzy rules!!

You know who sounds a lot like you? The head coach of the Miami Dolphins. He's no stranger to winning and losing. It's taught him not to ride too high or too low based on current circumstances. We all know that a lot of the success right now rides on one player. But this team is learning how to run with the right mentality. Just watch. Pretty soon Ajayi's back up will be a very serviceable runner. We won't squirm when we see the back up is in the game because we'll know that there's consistent production from that position no matter who the name and face is. Good teams have a good 2nd string and a quality 3rd string halfback.

Anyway, none of us should ride too high or crash too hard with this team. It's going to be a progression. It took them 5 games to get there with the running attack. We already have a dangerous passing game. We just have to grow into this identity, and the balanced offense will run as a matter of scheme and solid execution. The talent of the players will ultimately dictate playmaking. But the playcalling is getting to where it needs to be. THAT is why the Dolphins can become perrenial contenders.

If we catch some breaks, Ajayi could put the Dolphins into the playoff picture later this season. That stuff's a little premature, but it's nice to have that hope. :)

Well, I have to agree it's been far to rare to hear Dolphin fans discussing playoffs, even if it is low probability.
