Well, well, well. No sacks, no hurries...blah blah blah. The O-lone worked today, nicely I might add. It would be nice to actually have a QB that can complete a thrid down once this season. GUS CAN'T HANDLE PRESSURE!!! He gets nervous and proceeds to wash his whole team's efforts down the drain with his inconsistency and horrible decision making. We need to get Rivers next year.:fire:

Welcome! :welcome:

As for your thoughts, I disagree about Ferotte not handling pressure well. I think he handles it fine for the most part. It's his innaccurate passing and bad decision making as of late hurts the team the most and is preventing us from making the big plays that change games around.

Today there was a play where the pocket was breaking down all around him, and he patiently waited untill Chris was open so he could drop it in there. This was noticed by the Tv play-caller (Daryl Johnston).

Like you noted, there was little pressure on him all day. Fox showed the stat late in the game of 0 Sacks, 0 Hurries, and 0 Knock-downs to much surprise. Which shows to me at least that it's not pressure that makes Gus throw innacurately, its just his skill level. He still performs badly with no pressure? What dos this say? It says, he sucks. :D

I think its hard to tell how he handles pressure considering how inconsitant he is the rest of the game. I dont see him playing any worse under pressure than he does in the 1st or 2nd down. Amazingly our O-Line is doing pretty well the last couple weeks apart from penalties so its not that hes being rushed. That being said, Its becomming hard to tell the difference between him and ol' fiedler. We needa stop looking at other teams backups and 3rd stringers for our future. There are plenty of good QBs going out on the market at the end of the season and the Dolphins SHOULD go out and get one. In the draft or FA. Personally I think they outta get the kid from PSU. Nice runner, Accurate passer. If he was named Vick he would be listed as probably going #1 overall.

Rivers is NOT the answer either, Hes been in the NFL for 2 years now and hasnt done anything. Sure hes behind Brees but again this is just another example of looking towards other teams backups for our starter.

I dont really see Rivers as some castoff backup like we've picked up before. The guy was a top 10 draft pick who has never had a chance to play because Brees is playing allpro caliber ball right now. Im not saying Rivers is the answer, I havent seen enough of him to say one way or another but hes not talentless or a loser backup, hes a really talented young player that was highly regarded coming into the league.

I agree big time. Rivers isn't just some other teams backup. The guy is a top-5 pick. To say he has not done anything is nuts b/c he hasn't been given the chance to start. He's getting paid big money because his potential is huge. Us getting Rivers in the offseason is eqivalent to us drafting a Qb in the top 10. No backups here.

At least you hope so huh?

According to San Diego fans, Rivers blows. His numbers in preseason indicate monster suckage.

We do need to get rid of Gus. But Rivers isn't a sure thing.

Im not saying sage is all world. But he cant be much worse.. the team needs a pick up and sage could be it.. the gus experiment needs to come to an end. the guy is bottom five in the league in qb rating. the team isn't winning and he is making critical errors that are costing us games. the line is playing well, the running game is working well. the defense is showing some guts, the qb position is the major issue. another thing,, enough of the gadget plays please. when you run them 3-4 times a game they kind of lose their piz-zaz.... start sage, lets see what happens.

Come on Gus had 105 yards passing. When was the last time you saw a nfl team go to the playoffs with a QB that averages150 yards or less a game. The guy SUCKS. I'm sooo tired of hearing that he gives us the best opportunity to win, That's BS and everyone knows it.
If your just going to play for Draft picks then at least be a man and tell us that's what yopu are doing.( Bookies will love hearing that) But don't insult our intelligence by telling us that GUS gives us the best chance to win!:fire:

GET RIVERS, Start Sage or Lemon NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no one is a sure thing. but he(rivers) is more surer ;) than any rookie (vince young experience/ leinhart show) would be next year.. and lets be honest, the defense is getting older, we cant wait two years for someone to develop, but we may not have an option. patrick ramsey will be available, but even though he has game experience, rivers is the much better player.. i would give them our first (as long as its not top five) for the guy in second.

Leaf was a top 5 pick, so was Shuler, Akili Smith, Tim couch, etc.... It's been said before so I say it for you again--IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE YOU WERE PICKED!! High draft choice only equals big $$$. It in no way garauntees success.

which is why you can blame the playcalling. 0-9 on third down spells it all. Too many reverses and slow developing plays when running straight at them would have worked wonders.

Im ready for Sage, but the truth in the end will be we are not playing to our strengths, and that is that the playcalling is crappy.

BTW, when will people start to blame Saban for still sticking up for Gus? He says the entire offense was to blame. So what gives? Everyone wants to pick on the politically correct guy and not blame the guy who controls the whole issue.
