What's in it for AJ? By getting released, he'll get a modest new signing bonus and get to control the team he signs for.

Not for nothing but Mike McMahon hasn't been that impressive for the Eagles. He could return to Philly. He'd probably love to come back there. Surround him with that Philly talent again and give him back the offense he loved...he'd do well. He could do well with us but he would not be in position to until probably a year from now maybe two years from now after really having gotten use to the playbook. By then he'll be too expensive.

So we already cut Berlin, does this mean we'll get rid of Feeley and grab Tim Couch? Or make a sneak attack pounce on Rohan Davey...
 
You know what I love about this? It is the decisiveness we're seeing out of Saban. Can you imagine Wanny releasing anybody of Feeley's stature with the team no matter how they played? I love that it tells Gus that he's next if he fails, too. Maybe that will light a fire under him. :)
 
A trade is unlikely since if we traded him all his remaining uncharged signing bonus would accelerate into this year's cap. That would be something like 2.4mill. Also, while a team trading for Feeley would not have to pay any bonus and would only have to pay 540K this year, they would either have to cut Feeley next year or pay him 3.5mill in base salary. NOBODY is going to give anything of value for a player they know will only play 1 year for them, and at a backup position at that.
More likely, we cut Feeley, costing us only 600K this year and 1.8mill next year, then somebody picks him up for peanuts.
 
What happens if he goes somewhere and he blows up Saban looks like a idiot! Also our qb situation looks real good now with gus and sage wtf I think I am going to climb into a shell for the season, If he brings in anyone but couch he needs to be hung!
 
I honestly would not be surprised if AJ Feeley was released today... I think the only reason he hasn't been is because we don't have another 3rd string QB yet, but that could happen soon enough which means that AJ could be gone before 6PM today.
