One source said Wednesday it was "80-20" Jeff Fisher would choose MIA over STL; but MIA and Fisher could not agree on structure of orgn.

Fisher also was a strong candidate to fill the Miami Dolphins' opening. At one point Wednesday night, one source said it was "80-20" that Fisher would choose Miami over St. Louis as his next job.
However, the Dolphins and Fisher could not agree on the structure of the organization, league sources said. Fisher was willing to make some compromises, but the Dolphins wanted general manager Jeff Ireland to remain as the No. 1 man in the organization, and ultimately, it helped unseal any potential deal with the Dolphins, according to the sources.

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
Ross good job lets see how this pans out.
Matt barkley 2013.....

Ireland is standing in the way of us getting an experienced head coach, nobody wants to work with this clown! it even says fisher was willing to compromise, so whats the big deal about the head coach and GM working together on personnel, thats how you put together a winning organization, thats how u have structure, the owner, gm, coach, all work together to give a franchise direction! why does Ireland have to run the whole damn show!

This franchise is in deep **** until Ross eithe sells it or dies. What a disappointment to have another coach turn the Dolphins down because of the front office structure. Ross just doesn't get that money doesn't buy everything.

Best day for the Fins in many years! Never wanted 8-8 Jeff... However, Our organization is really a bottom feeder at this point...... We would stand 0 chance of ever landing Cowher or Gruden with Ross around..... Sad

I'm speechless.....Don't really know what to say or feel.

I've said all along that I want Fisher here, but I don't want him if he wants to have full control, as HC / GM's do not really work out too well....So, I should be happy right.

BUT.....

I now see how far this franchise has fallen....I mean for the love of God, we lost out to the Rams....The God Damn ****ing Rams?!?!?!?!?

Rams have been to 2 Super Bowls in the past 11 year, how many have the Dolphins been to ?

and in the 17 years of coaching for Jeff Fisher the Dolphins have had 11 winning seasons while Fisher has only had 6.

Jeff Fisher is a mediocre coach with like 1 good year in there to make people think he's better than what he was. Like others have probably said, if Gruden and Cowher wanted a coaching job right now, no one would even be looking at this guy. I'm glad we didn't get him.

Fisher took 5-11 win teams and made them 8-8. He made bad teams competitive
