its all about the offense now

yea im starting to think differently...perhaps we dont need an LT, nor do we need a CB now that Jason Allen took that spot. my question is at Safety...do u stick with Renaldo Hill, or draft Laron Landry...Landry is a great player, big hitter...but something tells me id rather have Eric Weddle out of Utah. He is a PLAYMAKER...has the most combined INTs/FFs in the ncaa. so if Landry is gone at #9, id consider drafting Weddle in the late 2nd. If both landry and quinn are gone at #9...without question id trade back and pickup an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder. Ted Ginn may be that guy we need...we need a PR and KR too, and someone to give Chambers room to run.

i also question the Center. do we keep Hadnot? or do we draft Beekman/Kalil/Satele to play Center and try moving Hadnot around...to LG, maybe?

Landry will undoubtedly be a better pro than weddle, although I do like weddle. Other than that I agree with everything you said.

I'm starting to hope Merriweather is there at 40. I think he could be the pick . . . and what a steal that would be . . . he is one of the steals in this years draft. A stupid on the field incident that was a brawl have people questioning his character . . . the man doesn't have a rap sheet . . . and he may be the best cover safety in this draft.

This is the first I've heard of Alabi possibly being better than Levi Brown at LT.
Would love to get Ted Ginn on the team to be that gamebreaker we need on offense.

Personally I kind of hope we take Ted Ginn even though it is a reach at number 9. I just think he brings explosion. HIs first year as a WR may not be too successful but he shuold help in the Special teams department. Give him a year or too and he should be able to start alongside Chambers

No. You draft Tedd Ginn Jr or Brady Quinn. Period.

i dont agree with the reciever section....... I'm not concerned with having CC as a #1 WR....... Obviously i think he's a very good one ! I'm not going to harp on the guy for lack of consistency when it's obvious, save Linehan in 05', that we have not given him the oppurtunity to play to his potential. Much like we haven't used Ronnie to all his strengths. With a consistent Quarterback in place...... a #1 Wr is the least of our worries IMO.

Who was the best WR during the Chargers run the past few seasons ?? McCardell ??

And working him in the slot/moving him around doesnt say anything bad about him in my eyes like it's percieved in this column....... would you say moving Jason Taylor around suggests he can't beat LT's ??? Or is it possible that moving him around helps get the maxium productivity out of him by creating mismatches and making the offense react and adjust ?

Also, suggesting that Ginn Jr. can be the Gamebreaking #1 WR that you think CC isnt, is laughable... to me atleast...
he's pretty raw as a wideout and hasn't really shown any ability to make touch catches in traffic, take hits, go up and get it, work the perimeters and many other skills that are required to be a #1 target. That said.... i'd still love to get Ginn but i think it would take alot of work to get him to be as effective as say....... Steve Smith. He would need that level of fire and toughness.
